We're cruising out of PC 10/27 but flying in 2 days early. We want to visit US Orlando as we've only been to Hollywood one once as a family and we get a slight discount on room and tickets through the company we work for. We plan to stay onsite at Cabana Bay and want to visit US on Sunday 10/26.

Question I have is whether it is possible to avoid all the HHN "activities"? We're (primarily me and youngest DD8) are not really into being scared and startled and would like to avoid interaction with "scary" characters at all cost. Not into Vampires, Walking Dead people, etc.

2 years ago we were at USH around the same time of the year. The day went well, when we were walking out we stopped and started taking pictures of Frankenstein.... next thing I know in my peripheral view, I had a Vampire standing really close next to me. He was in full character. It startled me (I screamed) when I went to step away, a vampire had come up behind me and I bumped into him, all while trying to get away from them. It really shook my DD6 up as we weren't expected to be surrounded by Vampires. That’s not really my idea of fun. I want to visit US but I want to avoid all interactions with those type of characters as much as possible. Is this doable or should we avoid the parks all together

There is no overlap. You won't find any HHN activities in the park during the day. Just some props lying around, which aren't scary by themselves.

You might have been standing around Monsters Cafe as Frankenstein is not featured at HHN. They don't do characters outside the restaurant any longer.

I think the OP is referring to US Hollywood..Not sure what they do there

Correct, we were at and have only been to US Hollywood. Loved it and had a great time until the incident

I was concerned as well with my little ones but aside from a few props that don't make sense during the day and looking "creepy" from the exterior at night it was fine. I was concerned about it the first day but then really forgot about it and relaxed on the second day. Have fun!
