Walt's Warriors (Team 7) Miles and Hours

Welcome to Warrior Megan!!!! Wow Carrie, job well done, congratulations.

Today I did 2.52 miles and 40 minutes.

Yay, a new warrior! Welcome megan- when you get chance tell us all about you. Lookin forward to 'meeting' you.

I did 3.5 miles before work (i guess that was yesterday now :upsidedow ) it took 32 mins and i'm sticking to my 10 mins stretching. Who knows, one day i might be able to touch my toes... or at least more than my mid-calf :rotfl:

Jim you did wonderfully with your challenge, even if you didn't meet your run target, you surpassed yourself in other ways. Be very proud, because we are.

Thanks for welcoming me to your team!

First, a little about myself. I am 32, married 7 years with 2 boys - a four year old and a one year old. We currently live in Blacksburg, VA as my husband is completing his doctorate at Virginia Tech - we like it here though. We are originally from central PA. I am a CPA but have pretty much put career on hold while my children are young.

I was a college athlete and have gained 30+ pounds after the kids! I am a goal oriented person so I figured training for a marathon would be a good way to get back into shape. So I jumped in with both feet and signed up for the 2009 Disney marathon without any formal plan. I have found that I truly enjoy running though. The time to myself has been much needed.

My training is going well, but at this point I thought I needed some added support. I have been lurking for a while but I took the plunge and asked Dave to add me to a team today and here I am!

So, I am looking forward to meeting you all, motivating and being motivated!

My latest distance run (and longest to date) was Saturday - 12.25 miles in 2:15.

Nice to meet you all!
Walt's Warrior's Rookie,
Megan

Megan: :welcome:

It's nice to have you in the Warrior World. SOunds like you have gotten a good start on your "come back". Looking forward to hearing about your training and progress.

I am a racewalker and also at this point also trying to lose some extra weight.

Take care and keep us up to date.

Hi Megan! :wave2:

W3D1 C25K yesterday, 2.15 miles, 30 minutes. I had to do the running intervals slower than I would have liked, my PF was acting up due to the shoes I had to wear to work yesterday. It feels much better today though, since I am able to wear my comfortable Crocs today.

Have a good day everyone!

Welcome Megan! Have you found a plan yet? 'round here, we tend to use Marathoning fo Mortals by John "The Penguin" Bingham. Then again, if you ran in college, maybe you're not a mortal. ;)

Hi all,

Just popping in to post my 45 minutes, 3.4 miles today. Have a great day!

Welcome Megan.

Welcome Megan!! Look forward to meeting you in January :)

Sorry yet again for not getting my totals in on time. I have started doing daycare to help with the bills and I just feel crazy all the time!!

last weeks totals - 20.2 miles total exercise time - 5:22
2 weeks ago totals - 20.5 miles total exercise time - 6:31

I haven't been getting in as much swimming as I would like or my times would be higher. Happy training!

Becky

Thanks all!
I am certainly a mortal ;) I played field hockey in college so no formal running for me. I have been following the Nike+ marathon suggested run distances but I really need a full plan - nutrition, hydration, etc. My 12.25 mile run was with no hydration break. Dumb I know.
I did get fitted for a great pair of shoes so I'm all set there.

Thanks for all of the warm welcomes! I'm really looking forward to January. And Becky - good luck with the daycare. I would be pulling my hair out!!!

My run for today was 2.85 miles 29:40.

:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: Welcome Megan :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

Yesterday 6.28 run 1 hour
Today 5.02 47 minutes
Hope everyone is having a great week.:)

Good Evening Warriors:

It was pouring when I got out of work. I was out of milk so stoppd by the grocery and got some. Got home, changed clothes and sat down and watched the satellite on weather.com. The dinner was ready. After dinner the radar showed the rain had passed, so out the door I went. Not use to walking after I eat but it went ok and I got the miles in.

3miles in 45min 45sec.

Good Evening Warriors! 3.26 miles, 53:25, on a walk to blockbuster with DD in her stroller. We took the shortcut way there and the long way back once we realized the t-storms were headed away from us! We also saw a really pretty rainbow. Was supposed to do pilates tonight, but since the walk turned out to be longer than I thought, I will do it tomorrow.

YIKES!

I have a lot of catching up to do! I just have to get better at posting daily!

Ok, here goes...

Thursday...60 minutes on the elliptical and 20 minutes of core work for a total 1:20 fitness time
Friday...left for vacation, did a 4 mile run while there and a 1 -mile walk with kids for 1 hour of fitness time
Saturday...while on vacation, 5 mile bike ride (with kids, lol) plus a 1 mile walk for 30 minutes of fitness time
Sunday...rest day
Monday...the day of PAIN! I did a 9.3 mile run (my longest to date! WOO HOO!) and then in the evening I played 90 minute of tennis. Note to self: do not do my long run on the same day that I have a tennis match scheduled. Total fitness activity for the day: 9.3 miles and 3:20 of fitness time! :scared1:
Today, Tuesday--there was NO WAY I was gonna run after yesterday (sore today!), so I just did 40 minutes on the elliptical and 35 minutes of strength training for a total of 1:15 of fitness time.

I will try to get more consistent about posting my workouts!

WELCOME MEGAN!

Hey Warriors,

W3D2 of C25K for me. 3.15 miles, 45:30. This includes 5 minute warm up and a very leisurely cool down mile. I ran outside since I was getting bored with the dreadmill. I really don't sweat all that much more running outside. It's more interesting and I go a bit faster.

I hope everyone has had a good day! I see no one has posted since last night!

Hi all--

I did a 5 mile run today. With warm-up, cool-down and stretching...65 minutes.

GO WARRIORS!

Looks like warriors are having a brilliant week, keep it up everyone.

I did my longest run for ages yesterday before work... 8.2 miles in 75mins :goodvibes It wasn't easy and certainly wasn't pretty, especially the first 6 miles after which it felt easier. Eeh. Spent 15mins stretching and later at work foam rollering.

Anyone else find it hard to stay motivated without an upcoming race? I know i have nike+ 10km soon, but nothing bigger :guilty:
