Walkway Bricks Question

I was just wondering if anyone knew any information on how to purchase one of the bricks that are around the Magic Kingdom, TTC, etc, especially the cost and if you can still purchase them. Walking around and looking, I saw some blank ones. I know that doesn't mean they aren't purchased already, but figured there's probably one somewhere that should have my name on it. Thanks for any info in advance!

They stopped selling them in 97 I believe. They were going to do a whole walkway around the lagoon but gave up for some reason that Robo probably knows...

As they PP said, they are no longer selling them. About a year or two ago, they were selling a limited number of bricks for a few hundred dollars (I think they were around a hundred when they originally started selling them).

When first announced- and continued throughout the "program"- WDW stated that this was part of a walkway where guests could stroll "completely around the Seven Seas Lagoon." That info was even a part of the monorail spiel for years.

But even back then, it was apparent that if a continuous walkway around the lake was not physically impossible, it was certainly fiscally impractical.

On the "path" between the Grand Floridian and MK, there is a much used "inlet" of water which is where the "Electrical Water Pageant" barges are stored. That would require a new bridge to be constructed and that bridge would either have to be an expensive "drawbridge" (I know they CAN do that, there's one on the WS Lagoon in Epcot, near China and "Africa") to allow the use by the EWP barges and possibly other higher profile watercraft, or simply find another waterway area to store those barges, etc.

But that side of the "loop's" problems pale by comparison to the MK-to-TTC section of the walkway.
It would require a wide, safe foot-traffic lane that runs through the same "under-the-water bridge underpass" portal near the front of Contemporary.
Back before MGM and several new resorts were built far removed from the monorail lines (and necessitating the operation of MANY new bus routes), save for those guests who drove to the CR, this ugly, narrow passage, with its steeply-inclined approaches and many exposed pipes and conduits, was never seen by most guests... UNTIL WDW decided (wisely) to put the resort bus stops for MK over AT the MK front gates (and not at TTC).
After that decision, the idea of threading a guest walkway though this too-small and now VERY BUSY underpass was simply not feasible.

Thanks guys. Seems as if I'm out of luck then. Oh well! Thanks!

I spoke with a gentleman last week about those bricks and was told that they have about 4000 that they are looking to release for sale sometime in the not too distant future. He took my name, number and other contact info and said that my name was added to a waitlist and was I was in the 75-80th person range and that he would contact me as soon as they started selling them again. He couldn't give me any info as to the price because I don't think he has been given that info.

So while they did stop selling them a few years ago they are planning on releasing some for sale eventually.

Who did you speak to? Was it guest relations? My sister got married the year they stopped including them in the wedding package which was gutting for her. Ever since she's wanted one!

The program re-opened briefly last year, but it was chaotic and confusing. I've posted in several threads about it before, one fairly recently, if you want details.

At the time, the cost of the brick was $300 - well over the original $95 or $99 it was 10 years ago.
