I am planning for my seven month mark and need help:

I booked at our home resort BCV for eight nights. (Our first time "home" as we are new DVC members.) I would like to do a split stay and move to AKV for the last three or four nights. When I call to make this reservation what happens if they don't have all three of my nights? Do I waitlist all three nights or do the last night of the reservation if its available. Then, add each of the other nights as they open up?

Thanks in advance!
Debby

It depends what you want. If only the last night is available, would you want to move for only the last night?

Let's hope at 7 months all three nights are available!

BUT, since you are a DVC member, you'll have lots more trips in the future, so why bother moving during the middle of your trip? Stay at one resort this trip and a different one on your next?

Points and impatience are the reasons. We have 100 points that I need to stretch until we can afford additional points. Points aside though, because I know we will buy more in the future, I really want to experience AKV. If we love it, it is where we will buy more points. When we were deciding where to buy, we had it down to AKV and BCV.

We are driving, so I don't mind moving. I guess I should have asked in my question, is it more likely for all three days to be available at the same time or day by day?

FWIW, unless you are trying to move to a value or concierge category villa at 7 months, I think you will be able to switch when you call at 7 months. AKV is a relatively large resort and there are very few reports of being shut out at 7 months that don't involve value or concierge.

Sounds like you are planning a summer vacation. If so, I really do not think you will have a problem. The summer months do not book as quickly as some of the other times of the year. Of course I am assuming you will call as soon as your window opens and as soon as MS opens for the day (9 am Eastern).

Good luck!
