Sooooo our air conditioner/heater unit leaked all over the basement floor on Tuesday night. A repairman friend of ours told us over the phone to unclog the condensation pipe that leads into the drain in the floor. We did that, flushed it with water just to make sure. Turned the AC on and 5 hours later there was water on the floor again and it wasn't cooling the house properly. So, here I sit, waiting for a repairman to come tell me my fate.

Fun. Air conditioners are fun. Especially when they go out and the next three days are supposed to be around 100*. Luckily right now it just rained so it's cool for the time being. Whole house is open... until the sun comes out.

 :sad2:

Here's hoping for a cheap and easy and quick repair. A girl can dream right? :scared: Nothing like taking time off of work to wait around. At least I'm getting some cleaning done, I guess.

Oh my, I hope you can get it repaired soon! I am very heat intolerant and can't imagine not having AC in my house. :sad1:

Ugh. I hope it's a quick, easy and cheap repair!

Actually my A/C is making me feel guilty. I have my annual A/C inspection & tune-up scheduled for tomorrow morning. The company that does the inspection called me today to see if I could re-schedule since there are so many repair calls coming in because of the 100 degree weather. I am on vacation this week so that's why I scheduled the appt for tomorrow (I made the appt several weeks ago). I felt so bad but told the rep that I had to keep the appt since I go back to work next week and don't want to wait weeks to have the tune-up and have something happen to my A/C in the meantime.

UGH! I feel so mean .......... :guilty:

While I miss having central air (we hope to have it installed this fall when we replace the furnace) there is something to be said for window A/C units. If it stops working you can just run out to the store and get a new one for just $100-$200!

Good luck, OP!

Hoping you get AC soon. Water just came back on here. I am close to losing it over all these storms. DS said I should drive up to the lake. No way am I driving 3 1/2 hours just for electric and it may go out too.

OP hope your ac is fixed soon and not to expensive. Our ac went out and needed a new fan and motor but thankful to have it fixed as my mom 79 lives with us and has health issues.

I feel your pain. We needed a part replaced on our A/C. They called on June 24 to say the part was in (we were just leaving Disney World that day). I called to reschedule when I returned home. The soonest they could come was Saturday, June 30. Well, the storms knocked out our power, so they couldn't make the repairs. Now, they are rescheduled for Saturday, July 7.

We have a bit of air conditioning. The unit is set on 79 degrees and it is currently 85 degrees in my house. Better than the 95-100 it was when we had no power from June 29-July 3, but I will be glad when they get it fixed!!!!!

UPDATE:

We need a new AC/Furnace unit. BOOOOO. But it's ok, it's old, and we're planning on putting our house on the market within the year, so at least the new owners will see that as an incentive.... :confused3

:crazy2: :headache:
