Don't leave, don't leave......

And then......it was over.....all that waiting, all that time.

My butt was numb.

My legs were like jello.

I was sunburned (because like a doofus, I didn't bring sunscreen, and this was the ONLY sunny day).

But I......

saw.......

Aaron Rodgers!!!!!!!!!!

After this Jason, surprise surprise, wasn't feeling well.

It was after 4pm. Two days into my Disney trip, and I've done about five things......Breathe Danielle, breathe!

Wooooooo saaaaaaahhhhhhh!!

I was really hungry at this time. We headed back to the hotel and asked Jason what he wanted to do for dinner. I had reservations for the 50's Prime Time Cafe, but there was a thunderstorm on the radar now.

Jason also said that he was still having pain in his esophagus.

I suggested something we've never done before. I said that we should walk over to Beaches and Cream for dinner. Jason said that was good, because he thought ice cream would help.

We headed out, but remembered our ponchos just in case. We waited only briefly and were seated at a table. I completely forgot how small the restaurant was. I asked our server how crazy it gets, and she said it's common for them to have 2 hour waits. Crazy!

The Yeti had FINALLY gotten up! Dude, seriously!
CIMG3752.jpg

I had an internal struggle. I really wanted the burger. But, I knew I would be getting burgers later, so I didn't want to keep eating the same thing. So against my better judgment, I got the chicken sandwich.

CIMG3753.jpg

Jason got the burger
CIMG3754.jpg

Now, not that the chicken sandwich wasn't good. But Jason's burger was soooo much better!

Note to self......Always go with your gut when it comes to food decisions. Always.

Jason was really struggling here, and I could tell. You see, he's a human garbage disposal, and at this point, he had only finished 1/2 of his burger. That's okay with me though. I got to eat the other half!

We did order sundaes though. I got the Milky Way sundae and Jason got the No Way Jose.

CIMG3755.jpg

Can you say huge?! Way too big!

Again, Jason made the right choice. The No Way Jose was great! Not that the Milky Way sundae wasn't. It just wasn't the same as the No Way Jose.

By now, it was raining pretty hard. Good thing I'm pseudo-mom and packed our ponchos. I had a feeling that was going to happen. We had to make that walk all the way back to the Boardwalk from the Beach Club. The ponchos definitely helped.

When back at the hotel, pseudo-mom stepped in again and we stopped at the General store. I got Alka Seltzer and Vics cough drops, because on top of it all, Jason said he was getting a sore throat.

I basically over-medicated him and hoped for the best, because we were going to Universal the next day to see Harry Potter. Dude, I would go without you if you didn't feel well!

Up Next: Wait, you closed your eyes?

I know your pain about waiting....we were there the year the Red Sox finally won the World Series and the next day Kurt Shilling was in the Mouse's House and in the parade....really awesome!!

And that sunday was HUGE!!

I would definitely do it again, because it's something that doesn't happen all of the time.

Those sundae's are soooo worth it!

Having such a great time reading your reviews:cool1: I think I need a drink or two:drinking1 And its not because I'm 100% irish or anything:shamrock:

Moss growing on your butt!:lmao:

Looking forward to the HP stuff too. You are posting that here too?popcorn::

Great pictures. I love the one of your toes while you were bored waiting for the parade. At least your pedicure looked great.

Your brother's burger from Beaches & Cream looked yummy. I've always wanted to try the Kitchen Sink ever since I saw Samantha Brown from the Travel Channel eat it.

nice update! Sorry the plans aren't going so well :( Your pics remind me of 2 years ago when the Steelers won! We also went to the parade and it was late! Our parade was just the band and a few charactes and Holmes. Yours was the full out parade which was awesome!

Beaches and Cream is very yummy! Were you able to use your DDP there??..or wait, I don't think you had it for this trip now that I think about it!

As you will see later, we actually went to Beaches and Cream twice. And both times, someone got the Kitchen Sink. It's ginormous!

Thanks on the pedicure! I actually did that one myself.

Nope, we weren't on the DDP, but I had wondered about whether or not they take it there. I've never looked into it before.

Originally, it was supposed to only be him and a few other characters, but because they kept pushing the time back, they stuck it on the back end of the normal 3pm parade.

Having grown up with two brothers I totally get the feeling you were going through. They are great but can't do anything for themselves :lmao:

:woohoo: on getting curb side seats to watch Aaron Rogers - love all the rest of the parade pictures as well.

That Sundae sure looks good - am going to see if I can make it to Beaches and Cream to get one even if it means paying OOP

Wow, I swear Aaron was totally looking right at you. I mean he even turned around in the car to keep you in his line of sight. :lovestruc

It is so worth it! They don't accept reservations, so you have to just show up. I recommend eating at weird times. And it's totally worth it, even if you pay OOP. They're not an expensive restaurant really. I think it's a great value!

I know, right! :love::love::love::love:

*sigh* A girl can dream....:cloud9:

:love::love: Aaron Rodgers!!!! So jealous you were there for that. It was cool because they actually showed him in the parade on the news here that day. You got some pretty good pictures! I get to see him next weekend when he's in town for a soccer game. Soo excited...it's about the only good reason my sister and I are going to WDW a couple weeks later, haha.

Mmm, that sundae does look really good (and huge!).

I know! We really lucked out with our location for the parade. He stopped there for quite some time because it was the media location, so our pictures weren't just drive by.

That's cool that you'll get to see him next weekend! And then to WDW! Can't believe your trip is so close already.

"Did you see that elephant in there!? He TOTALLY got in my way!"
Oh, that's a good one. I have not used that one yet :rotfl:

Great pictures of the parade. I also love the little touches that Disney does such as the tires you took captured.

Aaron Rodgers is not quite giving me the same level of excitement as you but I can understand your elation.

I am getting hungry looking at that burger from Beaches and Cream. We have never been there but it look great and that sundae looks amazing.

Looking forward to hearing about Harry Potter.

Yeah, Aaron wasn't looking too thrilled. I'm going to say it's because he had so much press to do that day.

Beaches and Cream is so worth it! It's now a must do for me.

I'm looking forward to talking about Harry Potter! And my new level of wussiness!

I read tons of trip reports on here but almost never comment. I like sibling trips so that is what got my attention but then to find you are a Packer fan! Oh, I am sooo in!

My sis moved to Chicago last August and is the biggest Packer fan ever so nice to see some more Chicago fans!

You are so funny, I keep laughing out loud and getting weird looks. Love the pics of Rodgers, how cool! Can't wait to read more!

:welcome:

Glad to have you on board! The waiting was definitely worth it, but I would not have done it if it was any other team.

I'm so glad that you decided to post on my TR! And glad that I could make you laugh. We all need a good laugh now and then.

Hope your sister likes living in Chicago. It really is a great city! And she's a Packer fan!? She's all right with me! :thumbsup2
