Hello all, I've used these boards for years planning trips in May, October, August and April, but never posted. :earsboy: Can anyone tell me how an end of June trip would be crowdwise? My children are getting too old to take out of school any more like we used to do. Thanks for the help! :earsgirl:

Welcome to the disboards. We are going in June for the first time also. I have heard that the later in June you go, the more crowded it gets. That by July 4, it gets pretty crazed in there. We arrive on 6/18 and leave 6/26...I am figuring that crowds will be moderatly high. Have to use FastPass a lot and just take my time. The heat and humidity will be a factor also. But, the parks are open later, so gives us more time in the parks when the sun is gone.

Since you've been before, you're in the same boat as us. You know what you want to do, you know how the attraction ques are going to work. So, you can pick and choose and get the stuff done you really want to do first thing in the day and then just relax a bit.

We are also first timers in June! I'm excited, but at the same time nervous because I'm spoiled and have NEVER been to Disney during a busy time.
We are going for 8 nights so we will be able to take it slower and enjoy the parks even though they will be crowded. Fastpasses and PS are going to be a must, keeping us pretty planned out for this trip! It will definitely be a new experience for me..... Glad I'm not alone! :earsboy:

We are going June 18-26 also and I am a little worried about crowds. However, it is hard to say until you get there. We went July 4th week in 2002 and the crowds really weren't that bad to me, then we went back October 2003 because one of the CM's at our resort told us that was a good time crowd wise and it was so crowded you couldn't stir people with a stick and was just as hot and muggy as July. We didn't realize it but there was a holiday that Monday Veterans day I think, plus that is when they were giving big discounts to military families. Oh well however the crowds are we will deal there is no bad time to be at Walt Disney World. :earsboy:

Another late June person here! The last two times I've been at Disney were in early December. It will be strange to be sweating instead of chilly. At least we will be able to use the pools this time and pack light. I was spoiled by the crowd levels so I'm sure I will be in for a shock.

We have been going about the sametime in June for several years and have never found in unbearable. It tends to rain more in the afternoon than at other times, but you just have to plan around that. If you use fastpass and plan a little, you should be fine!! We will be there from June 13-18 this year.

The earlier the better. we have been the 2nd week of june, and I hear it is not so busy the first week--I will let everyone know when I return from this trip. I would not go late june/july--very busy

We have been at WDW twice during the second week of June.During our last visit crowds were heavy wait time on a lot of attractions was an hour or more especially at the Mk.It does tend to rain a lot in June mostly just for a short period then it dry s up, we only had one day that it rained heavy for most of the day and night. We did have a couple of evenings where it rained steady and there was lightning so things started to close down including the resort pools. It is hot but as I told my DW and DD an uncomfortable day at WDW is much better than any day at work.

Thanks everyone...I'm planning the trip for June 19th - 26th and see that time period as my only option sooooo as you say a crowded day in Disney is better than a day at home!!

Hi 3kdsmom

We went in June 2003 and from June 8th to the 18th. The first week we were there the crowds where great and it wasn't to bad. However the last week (16th to the 18th) was really busy especially MK. I think that week is the first week in the US where the kids are out of school for the summer. It wasn't crazy but it was busy.

This year we are going from May 29th to June 9th to avoid that first week of school being out.

WE always go in June (2nd week). With good planning you can do everything you want, If you are early risers go to EE you will get alot done and it will be cooler (still warm, but better than later in the day) use fastpass (always have one), take a break mid-day to get out of the heat, swim or just rest at your resort, then go back to the parks for the night. I am looking forward to the night time EMH from what others are saying, that have done them, it gets less crowded after the 1st hr.

I was there last june and the following yr in july. One of the two worst times to go there if you hate the heat. Do as much as you can in the mornings and take a break back at your pool in the afternoon. Go back at night and use the late nights especially at MK.

I'm a newbie in June as well....

June 16-23rd - Is it as hot as August?

found august very hot..
sad to hear there is so much rain in june

we went in sept. as well, for me that was the worst time to go. rained every day straight for 4 days and was very hot.

please, please tell me I am not in for the same thing in June????

We always go in Jule/July. I also dont like to take my kids(DD15 and DS11) out of school. We usually go over July 4th but this year we are going June 24-July 4. the crowds are not that bad. The heat is really bad though!!! The humdity is so bad that we must take a break in the middle of the day. Expect at least 1 hour waits at TT, ToT, RnR, SlpM, SpaM, KS, and KRR. :sad2: We enjoy Disney no matter when we go because Disney will never loose its magic. :wizard: ::MickeyMo
