Visiting Chattanooga?

Live here so from a local's opinion....I would go to Coolidge Park...water play area is nice as is carousel. River St Deli is great for lunch but lots of other places over there. You could walk over from Aquarium area...paths go across pedestrian bridge.

Trolley's go down to Choo Choo so you could ride one down in the evening & walk around. A few shops but kids might enjoy seeing the train.

I'd skip Ruby Falls...never have done it but not very high on locals list.

After hours, there is a 12 screen theater right by the hotels including ovation Club which you can order dinner & see movie (Spiderman right now, I think).

Did CDM yesterday w/DD7 & 10. Go about once a year. Tinkertoy exhibit going on now. DD 10 still enjoys it but much better for 7 year old. They do have lots of activities (science, reading, art) during the day.

Large mall is Hamilton Place about 7 miles from downtown off I-75.

We love Chattanooga and stop any time we are in the region. We always hit Sticky Fingers (and being for KC we have high BBQ standards:goodvibes).

Last trip, we did Rock City after many years of skipping over it and really enjoyed it a lot.

For the poster going in October, we went through in early October and hit the Georgia Winery (just outside of Chat). They were having a festival were you could stomp grapes, eat, drink and enjoy the winery. We really enjoyed it and basically did it so the kids could stomp grapes. Check it out, they have a website.

DH & I usually stay at Hampton Inn....stayed at the one in Chat...didnt care much for that one..
Our friends with kids stayed at the Fairfield Inn & suites...said it was great!
