Deluxe resort rez plus value stay possible?

I have a vaca coming up in January (paid, Pop Century stay for 3nights). Am I able to book a one night stay at Swan in order to take advantage of the extra park hours that night for deluxe resort? Does it need to be tied to my dis app and can you have 2 overlapping reservations? I can get a room one night using points at Swan which would give me the 2.5 extra hours at MK (9-11:30pm) that night. Does anyone know how they confirm your hotel? Is there a wrist band or do you have to have it on the app?

Yes but it does seem like a waste of money unless you get a really great rate at the Swan / Dolphin.

You are able to add your Swan / Dolphin Reservation to your MDE app by linking your Reservation number. I have specific instructions later in my post.

It is only 2 Hours, 9 - 11 PM for example after park close.

Not wrist bands. You can use your smartphone with MDE once your Swan Reservation is linked, a linked MagicBand, or KTTW RF ID card linked to your MDE account.

You can link your Swan reservation ahead of time.

Step-by-Step Guide to Linking in MDE

1. Log In: Go to the Walt Disney World website or open the MDE app and sign in to your Disney account.
2. Navigate: Hover over "My Disney Experience" and select "My Plans" (or find "Hotel Reservations" in the app menu).
3. Link Reservation: Find the section for your Resort Hotel and click "Link a Reservation" or the "+" icon.
4. Enter Details: Input the special Walt Disney World confirmation number (often different from your Marriott number) and your last name.
5. Wait (If Needed): Allow 24-72 hours after booking for the system to update and recognize your reservation.

Make sure your reservation has the total number of people in your party. You need for everyone to be linked to the reservation.

Do note you’ll be paying the $50 resort fee, Marriott does not waive resort fees on award stays.

If you are staying at any other marriotts this year check their award rates, you may find you’re better off to use your points there and just spend cash on LL for the day instead.
