Virgin e ticket

Hi we leave in 9 days and i,ve been sent a final invoice but im wondering what the e ticket looks like all i have is a reference starting with Q but it dosen't work on virgin site.What should i be looking for or am i still waiting for it.

There should be a 6 digit alpha numeric code called a PNR or locator eg Af6d4y. If you booked through virgin hols you get paper tickets.

This should be somewhere on the final invoice you get.
 
Hi cheers.The one i've got on final invoice is for the booking travel agent only (Just phoned them)They say i will have to phone them on monday but i don't think i need to because when we first booked we phoned virgin and they gave us a ref no which lets us pick seats and allows us to put in the advance passenger information.So i think this will be our e ticket number, i hope it is as i want to do online checkin but i think we will be ok.

That is the info you need.
If you go to the Virgin Atlantic web site, input that number into the booking ref ticket number, this should give you a page with your outbound flight details. Click on that and you will get a page where you will see a link Make changes to your booking.
Click on that and at the bottom is "I can't find my Eticket" click on this and a copy can be sent to the email address registered.
 

Looked at that obi but they don't have our email.I have the final invoice with the operators code on, with the number virgin gave me i should be able to checkin online.
 
If you booked through a TA would you not get proper tickets? I thought E tickets were only for direct bookings paid in full at time of booking?

If you got that PNR thats all you need. show your travel agent invoice when checking in and you should be ok.

All airlines apart from charters have to phase out paper tickets by the midle of next year so soon they will be a thing of the past anyway- one less thing to loose!
 
Thanks all.I knew the final invoice would be ok to checkin at the airport,but we wanted to checkin online which it looks as though we can with the number virgin gave us over the phone a while ago when we tried to book the seats.I think that is our e ticket number we just didn't know it. :thumbsup2

Yes, you can checkin online then either print out your boarding passes or just wander to the checkin desks for them the next day.

You don't need an e-ticket for that.

I carry one because you can prove to US immigration that you have a treturn date if needed.
 
The final invoice with the booking travel agents gives return dates so im sorted i hope.
