You know, actually, they had a kind of a test-marketing thing with free beer on select OKW reservations for a while. We somehow got it twice in a row -- it was great!

Considering that they charge $5.25 for a 16 oz. beer, I think they would sooner offer lifetime annual passes. . . Oh, and we got a tote bag!

That would be the best perk ever. Guaranteed time periods where no free dining was offered and the news was only shared with DVC in the VIP club.

I only own 180 points. So, I assumed I would not be included on any VIP program.

I didn't buy for the "perks". I have never bought an AP (can't afford two trips in one year), have not yet used the free internet although my brother and family are coming along this year and he likes his toys, pool hopping(?) the idea of packing up my stuff to travel to another resort just to swim, when I have a great pool with a slide at BWV doesn't appeal to me. The year I was going to be able to make use us free valet parking, they cancelled that perk. We did get 10% of at McDonalds once, that was nice.

I bought because 1. I love being at Disneyworld; 2. I wanted to stay in a better room and location than I would be willing to pay for in cash. Guess what? I got exactly what I wanted!

I love my BWV....rooms, hallways, clown slide, walk home from Epcot...and I'm not selling. I'm hoping they will turn it into a nursing home in about 20 years. Of course that might only be for VIPs.

I have the same amount of points too! I'm sure we won't be in the running for any VIP treatment!

We really bought for the same reasons. We do always use the AP discount though, just not the renewal discount. We go every summer and then just go a couple of weeks earlier the following year. We get at least 24-28 days out of a pass!

We do love the free internet! We got to take advantage of the valet parking once before they took that perk away.

I'd be happy if the VIP program rewarded owners who have already purchased a set level of points from DVC, and isn't based upon future purchases and/or referrals.

I'll jump on this bandwagon...Free Dining has made our trips much less enjoyable. We're foodies, but we like to wing it, which is pretty much impossible with FD going on.

Well, not only are reservations impossible, but the quality and variety in the food offerings has suffered because of it too. We used to see unique dishes at the Signature places. Now we see the same desserts at most as well as many of the same appetizers at multiple places. BORING!

Sorry to carry on with the FD rabbit trail, but even those of us that have always gone mostly counter service have seen the affect. Mediocre offerings for much, much more price to make the dining plans LOOK like a good value. Mickey bars alone have sky-rocketed! There use to be some very creative and tasty salads, all unique to the different counter services....gone.

Yes, and that's why we all think a "free dining free zone" for VIP DVC would be well worth it! Actually, it's why we now spend more money off site than on when it comes to dining out, and we also are doing a lot more cooking in too. Last trip, I had only 2 ADRS...One at Teppan Edo and one at Turf Club. I thought both had declined in value even since last fall.

It was a special incentive my guide arranged for me.

She told me to go to Publix and buy beer. Then -- and this is the key point -- put the beer in the refrigerator of my villa at OKW.

She explained that, from that point forward, the beer was FREE!!!

This was a few years ago...before they came up with the FREE (!) points if you buy within the current Use Year...um, incentive.
