Video of Renovated Old Key West Studio

Hi,

I was watching a video that I found on youtube and this couple ended up having an issue with the room..bugs on their bed, bathroom and towels, gross...they called the front desk and were transferred to one of their renovated rooms...it doesn't show everything but you can get an idea of what the rooms will look like...


This was at the beginning of May so they obviously finished the building they were working on, I think it was building 30...

Thanks Annie! That was good to see! Except the bugs, but...well, these things happen sometimes. I do like the blue walls over the pink ones. I cant wait to see the one bedrooms!

Does anyone know when the renovations are scheduled to be completeed? We will be there in Dec in a 2bd and would love to get a refurbed one!!

I guess it is ok, not thrilled about the dark wood headboards, does not look very Key West to me. The blue walls are ok, like the old bedcovers better and I definitely do not like having the TV just setting out. I liked the armoires better. TV setting on a cabinet is so motel looking to me.

I like it. Was not a big fan of the pink walls, but I could see myself staying in these studios. I am still waiting to see what the laminate floors are going to look like in the 1/2 bds.

And eew to those bugs. My dds are freaked out by bugs and would have been screaming at the sight of them. (They didn't get it from me). I hope they weren't bed bugs.

It looks nice, the blue seems very restful, but I for one loved the "old" pink and green decor. Wonder what the bathrooms in the 1/2 BRs look like! And what flooring did they end up with? Like the new window shades although I don't think it will be the same without the wood blinds. Oh well! The bedspreads remind me of the "new" ones at Vero Beach, which I liked very much. So all in all, change is probably good!

I really disliked the peach, and from the first view I like the new room design. It doesn't seem to scream early 90's anymore.

I agree. They made the same sort of change to the armoires in the BWV 1BRs, replacing the light oak armoire (which I loved) with one made of a very dark wood. The dark furniture changes the whole feeling of the room and not for the better.

I think I am going to miss the old decor. I liked the pink/green motif with the light colored wood. I thought it was bright, cheerful & beach like. More of a summer/cottage feel. Oh well.

Agree! Much perfer the light wood. It gave a beachy feel.

I know others think the decor was dated, but I liked it! It did feel like the beach, and now in the video it looks more like SSR furniture and has a darker feel. It will be interesting to see it in person I guess!

Definitely NOT loving the dark decor. It's just not as fitting to the light airy Carribean theme. Looks too much like SSR now. The flowery bedspread??? NO! Should be seashells or something like that! This looks like they took the easy way out and used what they had instead of making it fit the theme....

Add me to the list of those who are not loving the changes. Although I'd probably never use the old color scheme in my home, it's perfect for OKW. Why change something that has worked for almost 20 years?

I can't tell from the video, but I'm hoping they aren't using the lower quality furniture I've heard they used at BLT.

loves like they kept the peach (pink) - table - but the green (my favorite color) is definitely gone.

yes should be glad sold OKW and brought BLT - (which does have some green)
