We purchased Vero points with the intention of going to Vero most of the time and WDW occassionally. I will be writing DVC leadership to make sure my view of the importance of Vero as a part of the total DVC package is known. Perhaps Mr. Mitchell is the appropriate person to write now.
As a Vero owner I am thrilled that this rumour is just that. However, previous poster has a great point. How do we convey to DVC mgmt. et al that Vero is a very important and integral part of our membership?
Vero is not my primary contract, but I di get points there because I wanted to be assured that I can book there when I need to.
Originally posted by jade1 At the risk of massive flames (I missed all this Vero sale bit so forgive me if this was asked) IF it was sold, what would current owners be faced with? If DVC "converted" your VB points to a new 50 year Saratoga Springs contract would most owners be happy? It would be the least they could do. I wish I had bought a VB resale if that happened.
Per the Multi-site Public Offering Statement: (They don't exactly use the word sold, but I think it applies here) Automatic Deletion by Termination of DVC Resort Agreement. A DVC Resort will be automatically deleted as a DVC Resort upon the termination of the DVC Resort Agreement for the DVC Resort. In the event that a DVC Resort is deleted, the Club Members who own Ownership Interests at the deleted DVC Resort will no longer be able to participate in the DVC Reservation Component so as to maintain no greater than a "one-to-one purchaser to accomodation ratio" as that term is defined in Section 721.05(23),Florida Statutes. A Club Member at the deleted DVC Resort will not be able to make reservations at other DVC Resorts; however, the Club Member will continue to have reservation rights in the resort where the Club Member owns his or her Ownership Interest in accordance with the terms of the resort's Vacation Ownership Plan.
I could be wrong, but I interpret that to mean you would still own a Vacation Ownership Interest of some sort at Vero Beach (or any other deleted DVC resort) but you're kicked out of the Disney Vacation Club!
Agreed. goofy50 said Vero WAS being sold. However, the most Richyams has said was that it was "very possible". That was the accuracy I was referencing.
Thankfully, niether is true and Vero is not being sold.
Here's was the reference for on "Very Possible" for accuracy:
Originally posted by Richyams Of course it is speculation that its going to happen, that doesn't change the fact that it is VERY POSSIPLE that VB could be sold off.
Again, in the past I have charactorized the possibility as "extremely remote", with Disney being in play for an acquision, I would change that to remote.
Where did I say it was impending? Or certain? Or anything else?
"Very possible" means that it is already in the contracts you signed and there are already provisions that you agreed to to accomodate a situation where VB is sold off and you will no longer have access to WDW DVC resorts.
Its actually more than "possible", the mechanics of VB no longer being a DVC resort are already spelled out and signed by the owners.
It is possible for any of the DVC resorts.
As remote as it may be, VB is still the most likely resort to be axed with HH a close second.
So, I'm not "wrong" as you state. The original poster attributed you with saying something that to my recollection was beyond what you stated, I do not recall you saying the resort WAS being sold, or something beyond the post above. If you did, than I stand corrected. Beyond that, it's not worth the bandwith to aurgue over definitions as already done in the other thread.
Vero isn't being sold. goofy50's retraction is appreciated.
