venting about WDW changing EMH

As this is my first WDW, I'm seeing how much advance planning goes into it. I thought I had at least which parks on which days figured out, but now I see that in the beginning of March, the EMH flip flopped (specifically the 1st and 2nd), so I am looking at reorganizing my schedule to avoid the crowds of EMHs. Any chance it changes back? Would they do that? My FP+ booking window opens at the end of this month. My Christmas wish is that I end up with a better plan. How are you staying sane planning during the holidays? :badpc:

It stinks and is frustrating to make plans at 180 days for dining and 60 days for FP and have Disney change the dynamics on you!

I can only try to reassure you that it happened on my October trip and I didn't feel I could change my coveted ADRs and rearrange park days, so I stuck with my original plan and was still very pleased with my results. Some of my days may have switched from crowd level 4/most recommended to a level 6/recommended or neutral but I still felt like we had a good experience. As long as predictions haven't changed from level 2 to 8, stick with what you' r got!

If you were planning on AVOIDING go EMH and now are locked in to an EMH day, just try to make sure you get there to take full advantage of it, or if you're not eligible for EMH, schedule your FP's late morning thru mid-afternoon and try to plan on being in that park as late in the day as possible to take advantage of dwindling crowds as the early birds head out.

Good luck!!

This happened to my plans too for an early February trip, where they added morning EMH to MK when I planned for it not to be that day.

I've decided not to change my days around either, and just go with the flow (lol....the flow being all the planning I had already done) :rotfl2:

Disney changed park hours with 3 days notice while we were there in November. They changed AK's opening time from 9am to 8am for three days of the following week on a Friday, and thus messed up our plans of having a TH pre-park opening ADR. So I feel your pain. That being said, I don't recall a time when Disney has shortened hours or changed them back to what they had originally, so you should be ok.

I also plan my park days (and thus my ADR's and FP+'s) around the EMH schedule, so I would be super annoyed if they changed them after all my planning. But I think I wouldn't change anything even if they did change the EMH's. During one of my trips to DL, they changed Early Entry from DL Park to CA Park and then back again to DL Park for the same day. I've learned to just go with it.

It could be a blessing in disguise! Think about it... all the ppl who wanted to hit EMH would have planned to hit the other day. Now instead, you get EMH on a day when most ppl have already planned to be there a different day. So during that EMH hour, you won't be competing w as many ppl who might have planned for it if it was a long-since-planned EMH morning.

Only problem is you're outside your FP window so ppl will still freely change around for the most part.

The real ppl who lose in this scenario are the ones who planned to make the EMH and are now... EMH-less. Those ppl have to scramble to try to get ADRs that they probly can't replicate as cleanly now. :( This early, aside from BOG, probly a non-issue.
