For all those vegetarians out there -- what are your favorite meals or snacks in the parks? I feel like I always end up a bit disappointed with my selections. Are there any can't miss items?

You can order vegetarian street tacos at Rancho Del Zocalo. I don't think they are on the menu board, but they will make them for you. We also like the Grilled Cheese Sandwich and Tomato Soup at Jolly Holiday, the veggie skewer at the Bengal BBQ, and the Veggie Chili at the Cozy Cone (in DCA).

I loved the Fried Green Tomato sandwich when it was at Hungry Bear. It's now at Cafe Orleans and I haven't tried their version since there always seems to be something I want more off the CO menu. If you are pescatarian and don't object to eating seafood, the lobster nachos at the Cove Bar in DCA are outstanding.

Both breakfast & lunch at Rancho DelZocalo are great. I usually ask for a vegetarian burrito with rice & beans. I've also ordered a kids meal bean burrito with rice and asked for a side of the fajita veggies rather than carrots & appplesauce. They were able to! We usually go to Rancho at least once per trip because it's so filling, it's also the only counter service where we can fresh brewed iced tea.

We also love the Jolly Holiday combo at Jolly Holiday - grilled cheese and tomato soup! The salads are really good, too!

I'll also recommend the veggie wrap at Galactic Grill.

In DCA Smokejumpers has the best veggie burger and a large topping bar for extra veggies!

We liked breakfast at Flo's, haven't had dinner or lunch there.

We also had the vegetarian chilli at the Cozy Cones. And you can get half veggie chilli, half mac & cheese. Yum!

We've never ate the regular menu at Paradise Grill at DCA but it looks good.

And for sit down restaurants both Cafe Orleans and Blue Bayou have been good. We shared a 3 cheese monte cristo at Cafe Orleans.

-Tangeroa salad with tofu at tangeroa terrace
-Tofu rice bowl at lucky fortune
-Pesto ravioli at boardwalk pizza and pasta
-Veggie skewers at bangel bbq

My best Disneyland meals have been things that weren't on the menu. Most table service places will make you something if nothing on the menu works (usually pasta), and the better ones will ask what you like and customize it for you. Carthay Circle, Catal, Steakhouse 55, and Napa Rose have all served me spectacular and unique dishes that the chef created based on my preferences. It never hurts to ask.

We're not vegetarians, but really enjoy the roasted vegetable salad at Jolly Holiday. A friend of ours likes the vegetarian offerings at the Jazz Kitchen in DtD.

My boyfriend is vegetarian, and he will not leave Disneyland without getting a bowl of vegetarian gumbo from Royal Street Veranda. (He seriously loves it.) Another favorite is the Tangaroa salad with tofu at Tangeroa Terrace. The cheese enchiladas at Rancho del Zocalo are reliable. As for table service restaurants, I think that the vegetarian pasta dishes at Wine Country Trattoria were actually his favorite -- better to get a pasta dish at a place that specializes in pasta and can make it interesting, rather than another place's sad penne-with-red-sauce "vegetarian option"! (I also know that he's had the BBQ Tofu at River Belle Terrace, but I don't actually remember if he liked it or not! But just so you know about it.)

Generally, though, snacks have a better success rate than meals: ice cream, cream cheese pretzels, funnel cakes, Dole whips, infinite pastries...

Several things mentioned above at Rancho del Zocalo are very good. I believe that the veggie street tacos are vegan by default and CMs that prepare them will usually ask if cheese is OK. I often bring my own lunch -- vegan tuna sandwiches from Lassen's in LA, which cost a mere $4.19 and are yummy. Also, as also mentioned my other posters, chefs at most of the places will make you something veggie. I'm thinking of the gluten-free noodle and mushroom dish at Blue Bayou, which is very tasty but, alas, also rather pricey -- around $30 the last time I had it.

As an aside, the street tacos come with a slice or two of lime. I often save them (or ask for extra) and add them to my water. Very nice :-).

Wow! Thanks for all the suggestions everyone. I think I've really been shorting myself. Sounds like Rancho Del Zocalo is a big favorite -- I never even thought of going there since the menu was mainly meat-focused.

@Eclectic Goddess What have they made you at Carthay Circle? I've been dying to go to there for a table service option but didn't want to be disappointed by the vegetarian offering (since they don't list one on the menu).

Yup, count my family as fans as well. Our family of three loves it too and our friends (vegetarian family of 3.5 - baby on the way) also LOVE it. Gumbo for the win!

Last I was there, they had a delicious veggie crepe on the dinner menu that's definitely unique and worth trying. I've also had what they described as a "veggie tower" that was basically a big pile of my favorite vegetables on a bed of pilaf and a couple of times they've made me a dish of fresh pasta and vegetables with tomato or garlic sauce. For lunch once, I also got a panini sandwich filled with roasted vegetables and goat cheese that I STILL think about.
