VDH Opening

Just got off the phone with MS. They said that there is no standard 2 bedrooms and would be $2200 a night for this room. I am seeing a 2 bedroom at the regular resort for $1400 a night. That makes no sense for me
Standard presumably overlooks the neighborhood. The rooms with balconies (1 and 2 BRs) all overlook the resort. So that makes sense no standard view.

I've gone through the previously published floor plan layouts and using the confirmation that there's 3 room views, speculated on how many of each room category there are:

I categorized anything facing a pool (and not a roof) as "Premium", the garden units as "Garden", and everything else as "Standard".

There's some Duo Studios sandwiched in the corner that face the new palette pool but might have a really narrow view as they're set back, so I'm unsure about those but labeled them "Premium". And the 12th floor rooms that face a roof I assumed were "Standard".

There's at least one flaw in the old floor plans: a door-to-nowhere between a 1BR and Deluxe Studio, which made it unclear if it's a lockoff or not. In the breakdown above, I've assumed it is a lockoff. Additionally, this adds up to 350 units (as originally announced) but DPB recently announced 344 and we don't know where the discrepancy is from yet.

Next up..Magic Keys reservations tomorrow. Hope each day we learn more. Should be an interesting St Patrick’s Day when reservation open for general public.

Like with the Star Wars hotel.......
It's not really comparable. VDH is just lodging, not an experience like Galactic Starcruiser. Both overpriced, but the former seems to be selling unlike the latter. And even if that money stops flowing, they'll be selling it as DVC soon enough.

I haven’t really been following this. Is the first year all cash and then it converts to DVC?

Are you saying that the Galactic Star Cruiser should have DVC villas?!?

You son of a gun, I’m in!

Honestly if they got rid of the whole 2 day immersive experience and just had a wandering actor here and there and rented it like a normal hotel it'd probably turn a profit for the first time in it's life lol.

They can keep the whole you have to be staying at the resort to enter but the problem it has now is it's such a niche group of people who are willing to pay 6000 dollars to stay at the hotel and then use up 2 full days of their trip just staying in the hotel the whole time.

It too had a lot of interest immediately even though the price was a bit shocking.

Ultimately the price has turned out to be too high.

Duo Studios supposedly do not have view categories. This would be somewhat congruent with RIV where the Tower Studios lack them, despite fairly wide discrepancies in their view directions.

This post from @Wedgeout indicates otherwise:
Just off phone and received information that might help out. I was only checking the Duo Studios for that opening date range. September 28, 29, 30 and October 1. There are three categories. Standard, Preferred & Garden. Standard wasn’t available for pricing. Preferred would be $685.93 per night. Garden $804.96 per night (total amounts).

And I'd be surprised if there aren't at least 2 categories for Duos as a few have balconies/patios and the rest do not. And they're breaking the balcony/patio Deluxe Studios out from the rest.

Will be very interesting to see what's posted online tomorrow.
