if those beach chairs come with the room, then it might be worth it? I won't lie. I love rooms close to the pools. And these ones won't require waiting for elevators and long walks back to the room. I can see them charging a premium. Just not sure why they would call them "garden view".
And people will pay, prompting Disney executives that their price gouging is justified. sigh.It reminds me of last year when the Mercedes dealership said everything was $5k over MSRP. I laughed and walked right out of the dealership.
me too! I'm not paying that kind of money for Art of Animation 2!Speaking of conference rates...i attended one later last year, stayed at GCH for 289/night including the weekend nights. DLH was around 230-250, can't recall exactly. At that rate we decided to stay for a week and call it a vacation.
I'm kinda over VDH unless there's a huge surprise waiting in the points chart.
A few will pay especially for the novelty. More likely they already know the ratio of what people will actually pay to begin with compared with after the novelty wears off. Their booking strategy is probably to validate their plans for sales incentives and point charts and to provide a little publicity with the phone jammed lines…And people will pay, prompting Disney executives that their price gouging is justified. sigh.

I guess because "pool view" could mean facing this pool or the main pool?if those beach chairs come with the room, then it might be worth it? I won't lie. I love rooms close to the pools. your rationality is growing tiresome....If the point chart for a preferred deluxe studio is similar to RIV and the point cost is $217 then it will be in the ballpark of an amortized $373 a night (without incentives) in late March (spring break).
A one BD @ $752/night amortized, two Bd $968/night amortized, GV $1953/night amortized.
I think that price point will still be attractive for a lot of people.
Yeah, even with it’s *outrageous* price point, VGC is still one of the better DVC resale buys (at $240) if you only compare to the same resort because the cash room rates are so high and the discounts at DLR are so small. If the point chart for a preferred deluxe studio is similar to RIV and the point cost is $217 then it will be in the ballpark of an amortized $373 a night (without incentives) in late March (spring break).

So just buy points at a less expensive resort, hope for the best with waitlists, and if they don't come through you can always stay off-site and use the points at WDW or AULYeah, even with it’s *outrageous* price point, VGC is still one of the better DVC resale buys (at $240) if you only compare to the same resort because the cash room rates are so high and the discounts at DLR are so small.
OTOH staying offsite at DLR is cheap and super convenient and the benefits of onsite are so small that I am still questioning all of this with VDH. I want it but I am *struggling* to justify it (and probably never will).
I think that may be my plan, instead of direct VDH.So just buy points at a less expensive resort, hope for the best with waitlists, and if they don't come through you can always stay off-site and use the points at WDW or AUL
Time to start thinking about how much the new Pixar Hotel will be! lolSo just buy points at a less expensive resort, hope for the best with waitlists, and if they don't come through you can always stay off-site and use the points at WDW or AUL
Probably what will happen! Or we will just continue to use Hyatt points at the Hyatt House. So just buy points at a less expensive resort, hope for the best with waitlists, and if they don't come through you can always stay off-site and use the points at WDW or AUL
How about the Villas at the Pixar Pier Hotel! VPPH!!Time to start thinking about how much the new Pixar Hotel will be! lol
The “good” news is that hotel is very locked into its current structures and can’t really be made that much better. I can’t see it ever passing DH or GCH in price.Time to start thinking about how much the new Pixar Hotel will be! lol
Is that still true.? I thought that wasn't the case anymore.Footnote: the land that hotel sits on isn’t owned by Disney, isn’t part of the Anaheim Resort Theme Park District, and Disney has to deal with deed restrictions and the land’s foreign ownership to do anything with it.
The last permit I saw for the building listed “P C & RS CHAO FAMILY LTD” as the contact which is who owns the land. That was 18 months ago. I am unaware of any transactions involving paradise pier since then butIs that still true.? I thought that wasn't the case anymore.
That makes no sense at all. Disney has lost thier minds.Just got off the phone with MS. They said that there is no standard 2 bedrooms and would be $2200 a night for this room. I am seeing a 2 bedroom at the regular resort for $1400 a night. That makes no sense for me
