We stayed at ASMo last summer and we are planning trips in July and December. Considering price with AP discounts, what is your preference, value and spend the extra money at the parks or pay a little more for a moderate?:teacher:

I would say it depends on how much time you plan on spending at your resort and how much of a saving you get by staying at a value resort. You have stayed at the ASMO before -- so you know what you are getting.

At a moderate you room will be bigger but still no interior hallways, or private patio/balconies. You still have a food court but there is also a full service sit-down restaurant on the property. There are quiet pools and a themed pool with a slide.

If you didn't mind the ASMO, and the savings is a lot -- then stay there and use extra $$$ for another trip.

It depends,

1) How much time you will be at the resort.
2) Can you get the good deal at the moderate?
3) Do you have a few extra dollars to spend on the moderate.

In my humble view the few extra dollars spent on the moderate are WELL WORTH IT. Now that is just my view, but if you plan to spend any time at all at the resort and especially the pool or pools I would spend the extra money on the moderate. If you have children and they like to swim, the moderate pools are much much better than the value resort pools.

It would have to depend on the difference, and if YOU want to stay at a moderate, or if you're happy with ASMo. We stayed at CBR on our last trip and we loved it. We chose ASMo this time because our budget is fairly strict this time, and we can stay longer there than we could at CBR, by one night.

I have considered upgrading our stay to CBR IF a good enough discount code comes out, but we might just stick with Movies.

If it's worth it to you, and you have the extra, go for it! If you are happy with ASMo, use the extra $$ for a character meal, or something the kids want to do.

Good luck!

The one thing I like most about the mods is the pool area. Nice slides, great theming. Also the landscaping is terrific. We stayed at AllStarMu in Dec and really liked it. We were in fact going to stay there again this August before we moved over to BWV. But when the AP rates came out, I grabbed POR for about $5 more a night than the AllStar. POR is my dd's first love at WDW. We like everything about it. So....I would say try a moderate during the summer at least. You can have some nice swims during the times you aren't in the parks. Then in Dec use the AllStars. I found Dec a little too cold for swimming. But there were people in the pools!!

Honestly, unless you plan to spend all of your time in the parks, I would upgrade to a Moderate, especially for your July trip. The grounds are so nice and relaxing and it is nice to have a variety of quiet pools plus the main pools to choose from. I also think you have a few more entertainment type options. If you can get a good rate, I would stay at a moderate. We have stayed at PO-Riverside twice and enjoyed it.
