The USPS is a government but not government entity that is constantly under a state of underfundment because they cannot really use government funds. FedEx and UPS are private shipping companies and they are truly competitors of each other. The USPS is sorta on its own island. But I wonder why can’t the USPS be as efficient as FedEx and UPS? Shouldn’t they all be considered competitors?
Not having any issues with UPS and only a few with FedEx. These are directly counted to my SmartPost (USPS) shipments. What gets me, is that they had to see this coming. It's not like it was a huge shock that people would be shipping more gifts then ever before. You tell people to stay home, they have to ship stuff to give presents. To me ,that is a lack of planning. And you knew there would be potential for COVID issues. Why wouldn't you staff up and have "on call" staff that you could have trained up before hand and then had them as a reserve team when the current team had to quarantine. Just seems like the whole situation could not be as bad if there was some proper preparation done.
For work we send out Fed Ex packages every day. So far we have not had any delays in the packages we send out. My BIL works for UPS in California and he said they are working around the clock to get packages out and they have even went and rented any trucks, vans, wagons, etc they could find. But they are getting it done with few delays.
Believe it! I am still waiting on eBay purchases that shipped almost two weeks ago. They are all stuck in the same sorting facility.Just printed out a USPS shipping label from Ebay for an item I sold. 2 day priority mail is now showing an expected delivery of 11 days.![]()
And they actually increased rates for the holiday season too. What a pathetic showing.Just printed out a USPS shipping label from Ebay for an item I sold. 2 day priority mail is now showing an expected delivery of 11 days.![]()

The tracking info may not be that accurate. They rely on someone or equipment to scan the code. I’ve seen tracking steps that must have skipped a ton of places where it could have been scanned but apparently wasn’t.My son's package going to Wisc has still not left the state. I dropped it off on Dec. 4th and was told it would be there in 7 days. It sat at the post office for a week, and then made its way to the Raleigh distribution center, where it sat for a few more days, and then traveled to Greensboro, where it still sits...
who knows if he'll get it ....I'm assuming sometime in the month of January...
this is ridiculous...

I took screenshots of our MIA things, put them on a Christmas background with “Coming Soon” and put them in my kids stockings. Thank goodness they are teenagers and get things are screwed up right now.

Do you have a local Amazon shipping warehouse? Most of our Amazon stuff ends up being from a local warehouseMy pkg that was Christmas gifts going to FL..shipped on Dec 9, still never made it in time. And my gift from hubby, coming from ebay seller, shipped on Dec 8 didn't make it here either. But all of the Amazon pkgs managed to make it in under 2 days??
They also have their own delivery fleet. I’ve seen a local mall turned into an Amazon logistics center. Not just Amazon trucks but lots of leased trucks from Budget.Do you have a local Amazon shipping warehouse? Most of our Amazon stuff ends up being from a local warehouse
