USPS Tracking

Update: My package, shipped priority on the 1st, after opening a claim, finally arrived yesterday. At least it made it before Christmas, so good enough in my book.

BUT, I’m now playing a new game of will it, won’t it? For the past few weeks, my son has become fixated on wanting a toy forklift. I assumed this was just another ephemeral whim of a three year old and if I ignored it, it would go away. Not so. The closer we got to Christmas, the more he ramped up his excitement about the forklift he decided he was going to get. Lol. I broke down and ordered it on Monday (21st) from Amazon with a delivery date of Christmas Eve. I was fully aware it may not get here when it was supposed to, but Amazon has been pretty good about getting things out on time so I decided to take the chance. I started losing hope when it still hadn’t shipped by the 22nd, then hope was restored when it shipped at 8:39 this morning from a distribution center only 30 miles away. But then..... I saw it was shipped USPS. 😩 So, what do you think? Can USPS transport a toy forklift a whopping 30 miles in a mere 36 hours? Crossing my fingers for a Christmas miracle...

We have a package that shows "Delivered, Garage or Other Location at Address" this morning, but we don't have the package. We checked near the garage door, front door/porch, back gate, and there is no package. Hopefully we will get it! We have sent a message to some of our neighbors to see if any of them got it. We've only been in this house for a couple of months, and I don't know if it is common for packages here to be delivered to the wrong address.
We've noticed in our area that USPS (if your package was delivered by them) says "Delivered" but they haven't actually delivered it yet. Way too many Nextdoor posts about that where it shows up the next day most of the time. It honestly hasn't happened to us but it's happened to so many others in my area.

I hope you get it too!! Def. check with the neighbors just in case

Mailing packages at Christmas be like:

USPS: It's your fault it's late. You should have sent it sooner. You were cheap and didn't pay for the extra special shipping. Stop crying! You never even sent a package. Never seen you before. We don't actually exist.

FedEx: we know you've been hurt before. Last night was amazing. Package arrived. Can we make you breakfast?

I have a package that's been sitting in my city's post office for days--just never making it onto the truck for delivery. It's not a Christmas gift, so I can wait, but I was sort of looking forward to getting it.

We got it! The mail carrier must have scanned it at the beginning of the route instead of when they delivered it. Just checked, and it was in our mailbox.

Pitney Bowes.

Hope you enjoy the Christmas gifts that I ordered for family and friends. Because of your ineptitude, I had to buy other gifts.

Lesson learned, don’t order anything from a vendor/retailer that might use Pitney Bowes if prompt delivery is important.

Pitney Bowes is the absolute worst. We use them for work and it's absolute nightmare. I cringe anytime someone mentions that name.

The 2 pkgs that were shipped to me from IN on 11/20, showed up on my front porch yesterday. 3 days after the company declared them lost in transit and issued me refunds. They also placed a new order for both. I called yesterday to try and cancel them, but they said they were already in the shipping process and couldn't be cancelled. Worst part is,,2 of the shirts are way too short and went back with the mail carrier this morning. When the second batch of orders gets here,,they will all be returned for refunds too.
Also..the pkg my friend sent me from FL on Dec 16, arrived yesterday, with no tracking info on it. Yet the one I sent her on Dec 9, is still MIA. I called the local post office this morning,,the tracking on their end shows that the pkg has made 3 stops since it left MD that day, but doesn't show them where. So eventually it will end up in FL,,but probably not by tomorrow.
Also, the one that was sent by an ebay seller (who has already refunded me) was shipping from MI on Dec 8, and has yet to make it to MD. Tracking saya in transit but will arrive late.
Delivery supervisor at local post office told me it's not just our Baltimore Distribution Center that is awash in packages, but almost every other one across the country. They sent the regular carriers out with normal mail yesterday and today, and sent a separate person with a truck that had just packages in it.
So hopefully some of us will get what is missing tomorrow..if not, put an IOU under the tree like I may have to :(

You got that one right on the spot! The 2 pkgs that arrived yesterday after being MIA since 11/20, were shipped through Pitney Bowes..they should be ashamed of the way they do business handling packages!

It might just make it. I ordered 2 things on Sunday, they shipped Tuesday and were delivered this morning. USPS is pretty good about getting Amazon things delivered on time, everything else--not so much!

Curious, why do you guys continue to use PB? I can’t imagine the marginal cost difference is that great from a trackable first class USPS postage? (Or, maybe I’m wrong).

In case anyone doesn’t know about PB, they are basically a contracted service partner for USPS to do the sorting and shipping before it gets sent to USPS for the last mile delivery.

I've had two separate packages sitting in a post office 60 miles away for 10 days. I have no idea why they were routed to this location but could have walked there by now.

Part of my order from Kohl’s was shipped with the USPS. It went from AL on 12/11 to CT on 12/13 to Pittsburgh on 12/13 to Philly (1 1/2 hrs from me) on 12/15 to ALBUQUERQUE,NM on 12/19 ?!?!?!?!

I once had a package (Disney Christmas tree exchange} spend two weeks traveling the system before it was returned to me. No explanation. It was properly addressed and scanned in. It's the US postal service.

What was the issue? Do they do some sort of logistics? I know they make postage meters and have some sort of service. I really only knew them for their office equipment in the 80s, where they had a series of ads featuring characters from the BC comic strip.

That is crazy. Part of me is beginning to wonder if the recent hacks into the various federal systems have also affected the USPS. I can see some hackers getting their jollies by screwing around with our delivery system by routing packages in this totally ridiculous manner.

p.s. I’m just kidding. But I do love a good conspiracy theory.

Think of PB as kind of like UPS Mail Innovations. They get the package from retailers/vendors and then does the sorting and shipping to your local/regional USPS. But, unlike UPS, they are extremely slow and inept. My packages last scanned sitting at their Stockton location almost 2 weeks ago.
