Hi! I have been following these posts about the potential of APs coming back.

Let’s say they become available before my December trip. I have a few questions as my trip spans two weeks so I bought a 10 day and a 4 day.
1. can I use the value of both the 10 & 4 to upgrade to an AP
2. Can it be done over the phone prior to my trip or only at the gate?

thank you!!

In 2019 I easily upgraded a ten day ticket to an AP over the phone. When you call, ask to be transferred to the special “ticket team”.
They will let you know if you can use both of your tickets toward one AP. I have no idea, but if I had to guess, I think the answer might be “no”. But no harm in asking.

I've purchase several Florida resident four-day tickets since the time that further purchase of APs was halted. When I activated the first one, I explained to the CM that what I really wanted was to be able to buy an AP. They put a note on my file to allow me to apply the cost of those tickets to APs when they become available. But they told me that any additional tickets I might purchase could not be applied to a future AP. If they could, I would have bought an APs worth of day tickets by now and just gotten myself a "free" AP when they became available.

They will be available by October 1st, and you can do it by phone... your hotel reservations price may change with the ap discount

1. Sorry, but no. Upgrades are "one original ticket-to-one upgraded ticket (or AP.)"
(But, you can always "ask nicely.")
EDIT: Since your tickets are new and fully unused, you may be able to combine their
original value toward a new AP.

2. You can try calling.

I upgraded 5 separately tickets into 3 gold AP renewals a year ago. I've never heard of that policy. You just have to use the entire value of the tickets at once.

You have all given me hope - or at least I can try. Crossing fingers APs do come back!

You can only reserve 3 park days at a time with an annual pass. With the tickets you currently have, you could reserve all your park days in advance. Then upgrade to AP when you're there. I'm not AP holder though so I may be wrong on that. But i would definitely check on it first before I upgraded ahead of time.

I'm DVC and have an AP. My 20 yr old son is going in October with friends and with me in Dec. I've bought him a 6 day hopper for Dec, but was wondering if I would be able to upgrade his ticket to DVC AP for his October trip. Would I be able to do it over the phone?

I am so annoyed nothing has been announced yet. Come on Monday!
All they said is they would be back before oct 1st.
I guess that gives them up to another month.
I was thinking they are going to wait untill after holliday. Florida resident tickets are good untill September 15th.

If you mean the "one ticket-to-one upgrade" policy, it is one of THE most basic rules of upgrading.

However, since it is strictly a "Disney rule," Disney can choose how it is enforced.
Part of all WDW guest interactions is the ability of a CM to be able to "add some 'magic' to a guest's experience."
In that vein, I always recommend that a guest "ask nicely" for anything that they may need in regard to ticket business.
You never know when the "magic" may come your way.

Makes sense. I've only ever tried that once and it didn't seem like it was any problem as long as all the credit was used. I upgraded five 6-day ticket to AP renewals. Had to pay an extra $80 or so, but maybe as you said I was granted an exception to the rule.

One of life's new, great mysteries...

A major difference comes into play if the tickets have never been used.
I see that the OP's question seems to involve completely unused tickets, so that
may be a big help in this situation.
Again, ask nicely.

Yes it was 5 family members who cancelled.
And yes, I'm nice! (Usually!)

Anyone think I can get my guest's Boo Bash applied to my AP? Should I try for my regular ticket first?

This was in the new info listed today..
Current Ticketholder Options
If you have already purchased a theme park ticket that has not been used, select ticketholders will be eligible to upgrade to select Annual Pass options. There will eventually be five different ways to do this:
  • Within the My Disney Experience app
  • Using My Disney Experience online at DisneyWorld.com
  • At a theme park ticket window
  • At the Disney Ticket Center at Disney Springs
  • By phone at (407)W-Disney
When the new Annual Passes are available to purchase on September 8, eligible ticketholders will only be able to upgrade in person or by phone.
