Hi,

I just got off the phone with someone from disney. I was asking about upgrading my play 3 ays pass to a seasonal pass. I knew that I had 6 months to do it & I used it June 25th so that would be January 25th

we decided LAST minute to go next week! whee!

She said if I upgrade they are good for a year from the date I upgrade - just checking that this is correct... if so that would ROCK!! we were already planning another trip in Sept or October & I was deciding if it was worth the extra money to upgrade or just buy 1 day/1 park.

I thought they'd be good for a year from June... but this would be so great!

arg! It would have had to have been done December 25th! shoot!!! :guilty:

it actually would have been valid one year from first date of use...so I guess not so bad that you missed the deadline. You can still pay the 220ish for the pass and have 1 yr from your next visit, though. Still a pretty good deal if you go more than 4 days this year, barring any block out dates.

we are a family of five though so it will all together cost us 1055 with tax - not something I can lay out right now... if I had already paid $526 it wouldn't have been too bad.... $479....

so it would only have been good till 6/25/06? that's what I thought originally but the TA said from first use of the SP... OK well I feel better now.

If you can somehow buy the tickets, do it. With the AP preview for Everest Experition coming at the end of this month that makes it all the more worthwhile. We've had SP since 2000 before that we used to buy AP but since we never went during the summer months we chose to save the money instead. Last year when they made 3 day pass for Floridians a regular thing I was going to buy one for myself (middle daughter's sp still had 4 months on it) but when I found out you can't park hop on it I went with the SP again.

Last April when they were doing Soarin's AP preview weekend it was great being able to reride without a long wait. Another perk to the SP is the discount for MNSSHP and MVMCP. Because of Wilma we were at Disney for 4 days and enjoyed MNSSHP 2 times (less than $30 each time) it was the only trick-or-treating my youngest got this past Halloween (we were still under curfews for almost 2 weeks).

how much do you get off for the Halloween party? we are definitely going to that again this year... went in 2004 & loved it but skipped it in 2005...

The discount for the Halloween party is not that significant, nor is it for the Christmas party. I can't remember exactly how much, but maybe $7 per person or so. I guess that would add up if you had several people in your party. Also, they limit the discount to only certain days of the week. So you can get the discount on the Tues/Thurs dates, but usually not on the weekends. Which didn't work out well for us since I can't stay up until midnight on a work night.

Date of first use was definitely when they would have expired though, so it was not in your best interest to upgrade to an annual pass at this point. We bought the resident seasonal passes and we love them, but we also upgraded our 3-day play passes so it didn't take such a chunk of money at once!

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but, I'm almost positive that the SAP will expire on the date that you activated your Play 3. Anybody else know for sure?

well I think for this trip then we'll just buy the 1 day 1 park which I think is 10% off for FL residents - at least that's what it said on disney.com :) I filled my cart with lots of diffent options to compare the prices LOL

when I go back in the fall I'll decide between the SP or the play 3 day again then....

What I have been doing is getting the 3 day (or last year it was the 4 day pass that included park hopping for the low fee) But you can get the Florida resident 3 day passes and pay I think an additional $20 or $30 and get park hopper added. Then if you go back within 6 months you can upgrade to the SP and only have to pay the difference. Can be nice to somewhat breakup the cost of park admission into 2 trips.
