Ok so I'm trying to get some information on the upgrading annual pass process. I have a few questions to ask so any help would be appreciated.

Here it goes. So I wanted to know about ugrading tickets to annual passes for Disneyland. From what I've been reading it looks like you can upgrade normal tickets to annual passes. My question is that most of what I've read is that if you upgrade to an annual pass from a ticket you pay the full difference of the annual pass. I wanted to get the premium pass so I was wondering if I could upgrade from a ticket to the premium annual pass and still do the monthly payments? My next question is in regards to what I've been reading about using the last day of ticket to upgrade. We're going to Disneyland this weekend and got a 2 day ticket. What I wanted to do is at the end of the 2nd
day before we leave home is upgrade to the annual pass is this possible or do we need to do it b4 using that last day? Along those same lines we're going with a couple of friends and were wondering if we could use their tickets to also upgrade to annual passes for my nieces? Since the tickets were used by our friends I was wondering if we could still upgrade them to annual passes for someone else.

Now the next step in my master plan. We are planning a trip to Disneyworld this coming summer. So based on what I read you are able to upgrade your annual pass to a premier annual pass and just pay the difference of those passes. So I was wondering if I could do this back to back. Since I can't afford to pay for all 4 passes in full. I wanted to get 4 annual passes with the montly payment plan and then upgrade them all to premier passes that same day. Since I read that by doing this you can keep the monthly payment plan and just pay the difference of the premier passes. Is this still the case? I really appreciate any help and thanks for everyone that took the time to read this lengthy email.

I think you might have better luck if you post your questions on the Disneyland Resort forum. I know that they do things differently at DLR than they do at WDW.

I know that you can upgrade a DLR multi-day pass to a premium AP but it really won't matter whether you do it on the first day or the last day. The anniversary date will be back-dated to the first day that the ticket was used.

I also know that tickets are not transferrable. So you would not be able to use your friends' tickets to get APs for your nieces.

What I cannot answer is whether you can do the monthly payments if you upgrade to an AP from a multiday pass. And I don't know if you can continue to do monthly payments if you were to upgrade a premium DL AP to a premier AP. Something tells me that the answer would be no, since they don't permit monthly payments on the premier APs.

1. You can upgrade your multi-day tickets to an AP and do the monthly payment option. You won't need a down payment since the cost of your multi-day ticket exceeds the 1-day, 1 park down payment.

2. You can't use your friends' multi-day tickets to upgrade to an AP for someone else. They are non-transferable.

3. Once you upgrade to the Premium AP, you can also upgrade to the premier AP, keep the monthly payment option for the Premium portion of the AP (DL) and have to pay in full the difference between Premium and Premier.

The Disney Premier Passport (both coasts) is not eligible for the Monthly Payment Plan. If you have any level of Annual Pass and you want to upgrade to the DPP not only do you have to pay the difference between the pass you have and the DPP, but if your pass is on the MPP you must pay off the contract in full at that time.

You might want to look at the Everything About WDW Tickets locked sticky in the TPA&S Forum. Especially the items bolded in the list below.

Oddly enough, not at Disneyland (or at least that wasn't the case in May 2012.) My friend renewed her Premium AP in May 2012 (didn't expire until June), got on the monthly payment plan, and then upgraded to Premier, paid the difference between the Premium AP and the Premier (at that time, it was $270-ish), and still got the monthly payment plan for the Premium portion of the AP ($479). Reason why she got the Premier is because we were going to WDW the next day.

She did, of course, lose the discount ($20) that you get for renewing. Well, she got it for renewing to Premium, but then promptly lost it for upgrading to Premier. But, she's still on the monthly payment plan with about 6 more payments to go.

But Cheshire's the ticketing guru so maybe my friend got lucky with the cast member?!
