I have been doing some creative play with boards and websites for the last week, while I was recovering from some minor surgery. I now have some space available on my new site, and I am about to move the disABILITIES FAQ. I have done a few minor corrections, but of course there are always other errors that I don't see, and things that never quite got finished (Such as the ECV information, and links o the disability info from the main page, and to the WDW Disabilites pages) which should be put in. If you have any contributions or suggestions, please let me know here.

Meanwhile, I will be at my virtual vacation retreat... I am having a wonderful time. :)

Teri I am doing an article on deaf and hard of hearing access at Disney for another site. Will be glad to share it with you also. Will word it so It will not be exactly the same.

disABILITIES FAQ under reconstruction

Take a look if you have a chance... I am still reformatting pages. This is much easier now that I have a more appropriate site and better editing software. :)

Need to add an ECV FAQ, rental information, deaf services, links to other official/unofficial information sites.

Please take a look...

Take a look again if you already did today -- I have revised 4 pages since this morning, let me know if there are any broken links or glaring spelling/technical errors so far.

I just got back from St Augustine! Awesome interpreting. I will send you the new info that Mark sent me last trip. It includes the info on the new handhelds.

Also you need to sepecreate the days for the interpreting from the following line. You lose the AK info otherwise.

Great job

Great FAQ teri!:) I know that wheelchairs at resorts may not be available. I read on the resorts board that the resorts require a $250 deposit to use them for your entire stay. You get it back when you return the chair. Have you heard anything like this?

They are asking for a deposit for the resort chairs now? That is news to me... wow...

A few more changes are in. I still need a good ECV FAQ, and more wheelchair information in there. :)

Thanks, Lisa, for the wonderful FAQ about services for deaf visitors. That was a lot of work!

I will be going tent camping at FW this Thursday till Monday (maybe tuesday) and have rented an ecv from Walker mobility for my entire stay. I have 2 really bad knees and a sprained back so am not as mobility impaired as some, I would be happy to post about my experiences when I get back if it would help.

Teri, we've always had to put a $250 deposit whenever we've used a resort wheelchair. I think what happens sometimes is that the people who work behind the desk don't always know or remember to charge it. But from the very first (going back 5 plus years), we were told by the special services people that they would put a charge on our credit card when we took the wheelchair and credit it back when we returned it.

Not an issue for us anymore, since I now have my own "wheels."(smile)

Thank you for that information... I wll definitely include it in the next round.

I fixed all the links in all 10 pages to reflect the change in the DIS servers, and also moved the whole FAQ over to a different account. If somebody is really bored and has a whole lot of time on their hands with nothing else to do ... :D ... you might want to go and check that I didn't break some links there. I am a bit dyslexic, it takes me a while. Also, please, PLEASE let me know if a page looks funny on your ocmputer -- I am using Netscape, and things look different on Microsoft IE.

I apologize, I forgot to change the links when I moved the FAQ to a better location, adn I deleted them from the old location this weekend. Sorry about that. (Thank you for the e-mail, M.)

Here is the correct link, and I will edit the previous posts to reflect the correct link as well.

disABILITIES FAQ

Thanks, teri. I don't think I will get time to look this week (we got 40 plants delivered and need to put them in the ground), but I will hopefully look on Monday.
