UPDATED: New Discount Being Released 12-21

Is it one gift card per package, or one gift card per room? We'll be getting two rooms, so I need to know to see which is a better deal for our group!

You need to have a room and park tickets on each ressie to get 2 GC.

Everyone in our group is going to have the same thing; everyone has to have the same thing when you're getting a package - room, tickets, etc. And you have to get a package to get the gift card. There's 7 of us so we'll need two rooms. So... I guess we get 2 gift cards!

Has anyone gotten their confirmation email since having them put the Gift Card promo onto their reservation?

I called on Monday and got the promo; today I received the confirmation email, but it doesn't say ANYthing about the Gift Card promo having been added to my reservation. It is a short email, and it just says I have the reservations for such-n-such dates, here's how much it costs, here's how much has already been paid, here's what $ is due.

Do I assume the Gift Card is actually in there, or do I need to call again to make sure?

Thanks!

Yeah, sorry if I worded it wrong, the $2459 is after I took away the $500. Total to start is $2826 plus insurance. Oh well. $60 is still a savings and will buy a few Mickey bars! I should crunch the numbers though and see what happens if I do the 5 day package and then the other 3 nights with the AAA discount. Thanks.

Thanks SummerIrmoma2_3 for pointing that out. I knew I had to be missing something, but figured I'd post the info just in case it helped. I agree that $60 is $60 in a normal situation, but some (including myself) may be hesitant to switch if it means paying more out of pocket up front. She'll be paying $2,826 upfront, instead of $2,510 to get the $60. But, if she can up that savings with, say, a split stay, maybe it will be more worthwhile.

jlcd, I hope a split stay works for you. Like I said, it will save us $245 on each mod room, just by switching from the 30% PIN for those 5 days, to the GC (that savings amount does not include the extra 40% we will be saving on the two other days.) With the PIN we save $255 off of $850; with the GC, we get $500. If you are going during a higher season (we are going during reg season,) this will eat into your savings, but hopefully it will be a good savings for you.

I got an email that has a link to click on. When I click on it, everything included in my package is listed (tickets, dining plan, planet hollywood voucher, and it also lists a $300 gift card). I am a worrier, so I'm glad I now have it in writing!!

I haven't gotten that yet. I've gotten three or four emails that all say the same thing. My new dates, and my balance owed.

I got the same email after calling to add the deal Monday morning. Also, when I log in to "My Vacation" on the Disney website it doesn't say anything about it. The only thing that is different is that in the last email, the package now says CARIBBEAN BEACH- SGV / MAGIC YOUR WAY DLX DINE - OL, it sued to say CARIBBEAN BEACH- PAY / MYW PKG + DLX DINE - OL. So something must have changed, but I may call just to be sure they have it right, and maybe see if they can email me that link OP mentioned...better safe than sorry!

So you need to have two different ressie's? We have a family of five staying in two rooms at Pop but are all on the same ressie number. So that would be only 1 GC if I were to switch?

We booked with the 2 free nights (7 day reservations), meal plan and 6 day PH tix. I am still trying to figure out what is better. I have holiday brain and things are firing correctly at this point! :rolleyes1

I just called and added the gift card to my reservation. We'll be staying at Port Orleans-Riverside May 27th-June 3rd. I had no problem at all, the CM just took my info and asked if we wanted the $500 gc code applied to the reservation. Then wala it was done!! She said we'd get it at check in! :cool1: I'm so excited!

Good for you! That's pretty much how my experience was. Took me less than 5 minutes. I had given up thinking there would be any special offers during my travel time which is, by the way, nearly the exact times as you. We arrive on the 27th and leave on June 5th.

Just for the record, there is no way you can make out with the new special using a two package split stay, unless you are going by yourself. Even with only two people, it costs 486 dollars for a five day base ticket for both. You would be much better off booking a 5 day package, get the gift card and use AAA for the second five days. Then you can use the gift card to upgrade your five day tickets to ten, much cheaper.
Yjou cant' use the gift card for the original tickets that make the package the package, but you can upgrade the tickets when you get there.

An easy way to do it is, if you're like most people, you put charging privilages on your room card, use that to upgrade the tickets, along with whatever else you charge during your stay and before you check out, use the gift card to help pay for the costs you incurred on your room key.

Ok, once again I have messed up. The above Smidgy post was actually me, forgot to change the screen name.

Last time I'm going to try to correct myself, that is not Smidgy, it's Nebo. Man, computers hate me.

should i call disney back on friday if i haven't gotten an email with a clickable link for my gift card in it? i have gotten around three emails since adding that say what my balance is, and my arrival days. nothing has anything specific. when i go online to look at my reservation, it shows "error" where ticket type should be, doesn't show anything about the dining plan, and shows my arrival and departure date. nothing about a gift card, etc. no details at all. maybe i'm need to go to a different spot? the disney website confuses me.

This is exactly my situation too! I'm glad I'm not the only one showing "error" where the ticket type should be! Let me know if you figure it out.
