I found this on another Disney website. Wooooohoooooo!

Disney is finishing work on Stitch's Great Escape, a milder version of the Magic Kingdom's too-scary ExtraTERRORestrial Alien Encounter.

Stitch's Great Escape, which replaces the earlier attraction's menacing monster with the cuddly alien hero of Lilo & Stitch, is set to open Nov. 16.

Stitch the attraction borrows its story from the movie:

Stitch has been captured by the Galactic Federation, which is upset with the alien's "play disobedience." Park guests are asked to provide security.

Of course, tourists make lousy security guards, and Stitch escapes. Stitch will be played by a 39-inch figure with 350 hand-machined parts.

Disney is warning parents that the show includes periods of darkness and loud noises.

Stitch's Great Escape is the first of four new attractions set to open at Walt Disney World over the next couple years.

I can't wait for this one. DS is so excited that it will be open for our trip in Dec.

Stitch opened its first preview for two groups on Monday. If you're there, keep your eyes open for cast members near the door and keep sniffing around. There were still some glitches Monday, but overall a fun experience (chili-dog smell and all). Lots of fun for the lucky ones who get bragging rights for experiencing the attraction during the first week!

Does anyone know what the other 3 attractions to open in the next couple of years are? There are plans for a roller coaster In AK, if I'm not mistaken, but what about the others?

Still have my fingers crossed that there will be an opportunity to see the attraction during our visit the last week of October!

Sorry to go OT, but am I the only one who didn't think Alien Encounter was scary at all? I didn't feel any breathing, etc. on the ride either, even though everyone else was screaming. Maybe my chair was broken.

Anyway, the Stitch ride opens my first day at MK, so I'll hopefully get to go on it. :)

I LOVED Alien Encounter, but yes each time I rode I felt the breath. It was awesome, in my opinion, but I even said "wow this is too scary for some." Some little ones were of course, crying. So I guess that makes it not very "Disney". I admit - it didn't really "fit" with the rest of the rides, but I loved it. Just wish some parents would have heeded the warnings. Younger kids REALLY thought an alien was in the room and were FREAKING when I was there in 2001.

Sounds great! We will be there Nov. 26 - Dec. 3 so it looks like we will get to test it out.
