UPDATE Michael Jackson rushed to the hospital (He Has Died)

I was an Elvis fan and definitely a Michael Jackson fan. He had a sad life. One of the saddest books I have read is Moonwalker, written by Michael Jackson. I believe it was edited by Jackie Kennedy Onassis. Still, the gaps in his life and the gaps in his education were so apparent. He never had a childhood. His father would take him and the other boys to bars and nightclubs, bringing him home at 2 in the morning, only to have to get up and go to school the next day. They didn't have friends. They didn't have play time. They had rehearsal after rehearsal. When the older brothers, and his father brought female fans into the hotel rooms, he would hide his head from the goings on with the groupies. I believe he was asexual for a reason. I am very sad about this. I am sad for his children. He was a great talent. I bought scalped tickets at the Hartford Civic's Center for his concert, more than 20 years ago. It was the best $$$ I ever spent.

Kind of strange...

I work at a summer program, and last week I did a music video project with the kids. They picked Thriller, so I iTunesed the video and song. I finished editing their video last week, but since today at the program was Halloween in June, I didn't show the kids last week. Their version of Thriller was premiered to the entire program today.

Definitely timeless. Even these kids loved Thriller and have been doing the dance up and down the halls since last week. I know some of them will be heartbroken when they hear, since they loved the song and the experience of making their own video to it.

MTV is running his videos. Thriller right now.

I turned on MTV to see if they were doing anything and saw they were showing Thriller and now I am about to cry.

I remember what a huge deal this was when it first aired.

Even with all the nasty messes in the past few years I can't help but feel sorry for that man. I don't think he ever was truly happy, except maybe for when his children were born. His childhood and adolescent years were awful, then he quickly turned himself into a freak... what a sad life for such a talented person.

You expressed pretty much what i was feeling...
sad about his death ...but so sad for his life experience...
He was a pretty tragic personality....:sad2:

( and I also thought about Paul Mcartney getting the catalog back too)

Thank you, Peg. Can't believe how insensitive some people can be. :sad2:
After all this he did pass away. Kind of scares me with him being the same age as me.

That's what my brother just said,,,about the age thing..that when we were younger it was like MJ was always younget than us for some rteason, and then BAM...he is the same age!

I'm worried about those kids. They are going to have a rough transition. I almost hope someone like Lisa Marie is in line. She might be messed up too but her kids seem to be pretty stable.

..
I don't think Lisa Marie has any chance of getting those kids she not releated to them at all. I think her and Michael marriage was for the Media more then anything.

So is Liza Minelli.

and Diana Ross

I hope no one takes this the wrong way, but Michael Jackson's death is overtaking Farrah Fawcett's death on the news, and I think both of them would have wanted it this way. I mean, Farrah was more of a private person who I believe may have wanted her death to be more of a private, family event, and Michael was into being the center of attention. I'm not saying that he wanted to die so young, though.

I was thinking this also. I think it may be that Jackson's death is such a shock. None of us knew it was coming.

The first concert I ever went to was the Jackson Victory tour. I was 9 and it was awesome.

Wow. So sad.

I wouldn't be surprised if there was a custody fight for his kids. Not sure who's involved, but I can definitely see it happening.

Did anyone else's Internet go off for a bit? MJ's death broke the Internet. :(

Poor man.

This one hit me hard. As a newly 33 year old person.. he was the person I listened to. i can't think of another example of someone that MY generation listened too. I"m sure there are others, but this one hit me hard.

I was (am) a big fan of his music - and used to love to watch him "moon walk".. :sad2:

Its sad that such a talented amazing child evolved into a sad tormented mentally sick man. I hope he can now find the peace he couldn't find on earth.
