UPDATE Michael Jackson rushed to the hospital (He Has Died)

You know, I see this as incredibly unfair.

If I'm not mistaken, this did not go to trial because the family took a pay off.

Would you take a pay off if your son was molested, would you take a pay off? I sure as hell would not.

Then you've got child stars Macauly Culkin and Corey Haim both attested to the fact that Michael never did anything at all, inappropriate to them.

This isnt O.J. we're talking about. AND - he's dead, now.

I think he may have been guilty of inappropriate things, but the bigger point you made is the family taking the payoff. No amount of money could sway me from pressing charges if he molested my child. If he didn't do anything to any kid, I feel horrible that he had to live with the suspicion. I don't think we will ever know. He may have just had Peter Pan syndrome and honestly did not realize that sleepovers with children were inappropriate. And who the heck allows their child to sleepover with any grown man that is not a relative???

I am extremely sad about this. His music was wonderful. Not his greatest fan, but you do recoginize a great artist when you see one.

I don't think he was sick. This seems to be either accidental or intentional.

There have been rumors of heart trouble. Apparently however, he passed a four and a half hour physical. Who knows. Sudden death happens. He was frail. 120 pounds at 5'10"? That's frail.

Everyone knows they just wanted money. If it was true why would they accept money over justice?

All of you that want to continue saying ugly things should start your own thread.

Not all the families accepted money. Some filed charges, spoke up and never went after a dime

Could you dig way down deep and manage to scrape up an ounce of compassion for his children and his family? His death is not "all about him"..:sad2:

Compassion is for many. And while many are lauding Michael Jackson and singing his praises, Im trying to show a bit of compassion for the families that he hurt.It must be very difficult to have to sit back and listen to people call him a hero.

I was a huge fan of MJ and the J5. I think he was a musical genius. Its been hard to see what he has become. They always say there is a fine line between genius and inssanity. Like I posted before, I hope MJ can now find the peace he never could find here on earth.

actually they just said on cnn that 50 is not young to have cardiac arrest.

my younger brother had a heart attack last summer - he was only 39. he's ok but he was 95% blocked so 50 is not all that young. plus if you go with the reports that he's been abusing rx drugs ie elvis then he was a heart attack waiting to happen.

Karen Carpenter died of cardiac arrest and she was only in her 30's. her;s came year of stressing her heart with being anorexic. massive stressing the heart can only go for so long.

#3?

I hadn't heard a cause yet. Actually, I didn't know he was even back in the US?[/QUOTE

Have no idea. hes very young to have cardiac arrest. have heard alot of reports though that its extremely serious

You know, I had the same thought when I opened this one. Lets have two threads. In the meantime, I will feel sad over this. Who ever imagined that he would not outlive Elizabeth Taylor, his friend.

I'm a 30-something. His music was the soundtrack of my childhood.
He will be missed.

BBC News is speculating that world leaders will release statements on his death. Do you really think they will? I realize Michael Jackson is a tremendous entertainer, one of the best ever, without question, but is this something you'd expect? It strikes me as a bit odd. I can see President Obama saying something but not "world leaders" in general.

(I'm young, and don't think I've lived through an entertainer's death like this before - John Lennon springs to mind but that was well before my birth!)

Anyway, I am still in shock. I went to UCLA and keep watching the footage on TV - I lived 5 minutes from where everyone is standing.

You have morals, maybe the others didn't.
OJ got his, ain't karma a *****.

I'm sorry about his death for his family but that's about it.
He was an amazing artist in the 80's and as a kid I loved his stuff but that's when the Micheal Jackson I knew died to me.
When he paid off that family to the reported amount of 10 million dollars, I lost any respect for him. I don't care if it would break me, I would fight to the very end with every penny I had to clear my name if it was a false accusation. He did not, that speaks volumes to me............

Do you think those families are so hurt that they would have no compassion for his children or his family? After all, if any crimes were committed, they were committed by MJ - not his children, not his mother, etc..

Corey Haim ... attested to the fact that Michael never did anything at all, inappropriate...

I know this isn't the point of this thread, but didn't Corey Haim allude to the fact that a very famous person did, indeed, molest him and he was angry at Feldman for introducing them? Then Feldman indicated that same famous person also abused him? (At least that's what I thought I remembered from 'The 2 Coreys). :confused3

Yes, but the the child was able to describe markings on his male organ to a T, which was verified by the police. :(

Not trying to start/continue anyting on this thread. But, that was also one of the facts.

In the end, the damage was done to the child, (if it did happen.) The best the family could do was to move on. Hopefully the child actually received the money ( and not the parents) and got much needed therapy if it did happen.

I am very shocked and upset. Although I am only 16, I lived my early years with Michael Jackson as a soundtrack. My parents were very into MJ and we listened to him all the time.
How sad. :sad2: May his soul rest in peace.

CNN just had MJ's manager on who is at the hospital and said that the situation with MJ was similar to what happened with Anna Nicole Smith and that he was surrounded by enablers....

Sounds like the OD rumor could be true....

Sort of like Elvis too.....This is just so sad, esp if pills are what caused this......:(
