Will you allow your Renters to rebook even if the resort is opened?

I’m curious as to how most Owners will proceed with Fall Rentals. If you have any fall rentals currently booked, have you been in contact with the guest to see if they need to make any changes to the reservation? Will you just let it remain as is and then reach out if things go sideways?

This is geared towards September, October, November, December rentals. I’m sure the “resorts” will be “opened” and the accommodations will be available by then but I just want to see what options you plan on using when this time comes.

Are you open to rescheduling now? or waiting until we get further clarification on a few things?

Those of you with points that may be lost, are you willing to trade points with someone that wants to travel during this time in exchange for their points to travel later? Is that even an option? I know it would require a big leap of Faith and Trust to pull off( as well as a contract preferably one like Ursula made Ariel sign 😝)

Do you consider this to be a moot point since the resort is open so you have fulfilled your duty?

Just trying to plan ahead in case any of it affects my Renters for the fall.

Thank you 😊

I have a rental through Davids in August . If the resort is open, I will expect the reservation to be used. I cant cancel it and its Borrowed points, even at the beginning of the UY, but I don’t want to put them farther out,

I have an August and a September rental through David’s. I would be very happy to reschedule these if the renter wanted and there is availability. If the stay was for the same length of time I wouldn’t mind if it was a few more points.
I haven’t answered the poll as none of the options really apply to me. I haven’t reached out to make contact myself yet as I’m still trying to work out what the best thing to do is. If I change the rental without agreement from David’s then I could owe them for this.

I completely understand! Good luck anyway which way it goes!

I think a lot of has to do with the owners use year, and banking/borrowing factors. If the points they rented are at the beginning of your use year, I'd be open to rescheduling within that use year. If the resorts are open, but parks are not, I'd probably cancel the reservation and refund most, if not all, the payments to the renter, even if there were issues with my use year. Clearly the renter would have scheduled the trip thinking the parks would be open, why else would you spend the money for a rental at a Disney World timeshare? I know it would put owners on the spot, but look at it like good will, you'd probably have a renter more than willing to rent from you again once everything is operating. Having a good relationship with renters can mean far more loyal renters and easier rentals for the future. I didn't vote, because the response would vary depending on the point status.

If the resorts AND the parks are open, I'd just think they are keeping and using their current reservation.

I have a trip planned with my best friend's little girl and her paternal grandparents in June. If it is cancelled, I assume points will not go into holding, I have a June use year, and I used 2020 June points, so there would be no restriction on future use of the points, so we'd reschedule. Infact, they are part of a 10 person group we're planning for Thanksgiving 2021, so if nothing else,I could bank and use the points for that trio. The fly in the ointment is that they have purchased Military tickets for this trip, the Grandad is retired Lt. Colonel, so if it is cancelled, we need to see how Disney will handle those, since they expire at the end of 2020.

I have a couple of private rentals happening in Nov and Dec and have been in contact with the renters to see if they want to change their dates. Both want to keep their existing dates.

Lots of pent up demand...

Had someone else looking for Dec and there was no availability for their dates.

Awesome! I wasn’t sure which way to go on this one so it’s nice to hear what others are doing! Thanks for your response 🤩
