There were two items DS wanted and not available anywhere BUT they got put out for the special guests previews. I hate when the every day guests get dissed for "special" influencer media folks.

EDITED to add I just checked ebay and yeah there are quite a few of both items he wanted. So wish these theme parks would get this under control ~ it is VERY easy to do.

Not sure what others thought but that livestream by Universal was unwatchable for me.
I waits a good 20 to 25 minutes for it to start - was about 15 minutes late - fine.
They started with several commercials - fine.
The hosts were unwatchable - after 5 minutes I checked out.
Saw a streamer was showing it live and people were commenting - yeah they were commenting on how bad it was.
Tuned it later - and again turned it off - they were just bad.
Turned in a third time and there was a guy interviewing folks who was not great as well.
So I spent more time waiting to watch it than actually watching it.
At least I can go back and watch highlights today.

I know like 80% of the streams are unwatchable as well but maybe they should have had them going around and livestreaming the event.

Started watching this stream today. There was a moment about an hour or so into the stream that had me cackling.

The “hosts” at the table are chatting about their favorite lands and the one in the middle says something about cutting to a special person on the carpet. They cut to it and Miyamoto walks by and waves, all three hosts sit there in silence and just move on with an “Alright”.

A few moments after that they start going on about their love of Super Nintendo Land and growing up with an NES and Super Mario Bros.

Watching all the local news this morning made me decide to go Saturday lol.

But I still don't plan to arrive to late afternoon early evening. Wanna be there til close.

I keep reminding myself that 1. My day is only a week+ away - I can wait, and 2. It’s a million degrees out

Is everyone there just basically refusing to leave the queue of Ministry while it’s still in a delayed opening?

That's something I'm looking out for how they handle the queues and how people behave and how does this attraction work come mornings.

I know the first morning we tried to ride Hagrid's we were there for Early Entry, got in line but shortly after they announced it was not able to operate and they closed the line off. They were telling people they could stay or they could leave the line but they didn't know when it would be open again. We opted to leave about 15mins later others left too, decent amount stayed. We then went to VelociCoaster where my husband rode that (still during Early Entry) with a posted wait time of 50 mins and he waited a bit less than that as he was completely out in 45mins. While he was riding that I kept checking for if Hagrid's got up and running and it did just after official park opening. Posted wait was 60mins a few mins after opening we waited less than that as we were completely out of the ride 40mins in.

We knew already that Hagrid's tends to have troubles early in the morning both for Early Entry and for right at official park opening so the next 2 days we just headed to VelociCoaster so my husband could ride that during Early Entry. We caught Hagrid's for the 2nd time on our 3rd day in the evening with a posted 75min wait and it did end up being right about that.

I think the Ticket number for today must be drastically limited, perhaps because of all the expected youtubers, so that the park does make an attractive impression?

Seen comments that it was capped at 13k today. And supposedly to go up to 17 starting Saturday I think?

That makes sense. Until I see nominal crowds (Saturday, maybe), I'm going to temper expectations.

Yeah - its hard to get out of the queue once you are invested in it.

I had this issue on my first day with Minecart - got in line and an hour later it was down. 2.5 hours later I am still in line.
The thing is you don't want to leave and then it comes up 5 minutes later - I did finally give up and there was an hour long line to get into the queue once they open the queue again.

it was down for at least another hour - they don't seem to want to close it and give people an express - I can understand that.

I am starting to wonder if it was a mistake to limit the crowds today - because a lot of trolls in chats saying the place is empty on opening day - not good - etc.. Alternative is they could have sold a ton of tickets and nothing worked - so again - not sure they can win no matter what they do.

That said - I guess no one has actually been on Ministry today - its been delayed all day. Edit: They are handing out free popcorn to those in lines - I'd assume water as well. No express passes as there are too many people in the line.

People not in that line are having an amazing time - so that is a positive

Given the experiences and issues with Ministry, when we go in July, we're going to save it for last. If we get on it, it's gravy.

It's weird to me to root for a failure of a theme park

10 years or so ago if you said anything negative about Disney on this site you were attacked. I took many a beatings.

Things have changed a lot - but there are still a lot of people who keep that going on other sites.
Pretty sure like with most things there are also paid trolls and defenders - I recall something about that specifically with Disney a few years back.

At the end of it - Universal sold 100%+ of the tickets they planned to for today - so spin all they like -its sort of ridiculous.

If you were there on opening day they gave a coin - I doubt you would toss it - its metal and says grand opening 2025.
Just because its on eBay for 250 does not mean someone will pay 250 - but they may offer some amount.
I see two listed currently.

I also see one from Earthquake opening day 1990 - and its only $248 with a nice case.
