I'm sorry but this argument makes no sense- are you saying disney should only offer one perk?

Maybe they should only offer one ride because that's your ride for the park ticket

Or you can only meet one character because that's your character for the day

Disney should keep offering on site guests more and more perks- if it makes off site people upset than so be it- maybe they'll decide to stay on property- people are getting upset because Disney is adding value to staying on site- this is disneys goal- if people weren't getting upset it would mean that the on site perks weren't good enough- I just don't understand why people are surprised by this...

Its not an argument at all and I'm not saying they should only offer 1 perk. They already offer several and if you read an earlier response of mine you would understand what I'm trying to say.

Read post 710.

Big Al says he pays for immersion and Jaime A says to be in the Disney Bubble, these are "perks" to them that they get from staying on Disney property. You can't get them anywhere else but by staying on Disney property

I don't think I would say that staying on site for the immersion experience is a perk. It's a perceived value. We stay on site, not for immersion, or for the Disney bubble, but because, for us, it is convenient. That is not the case for everyone though, which is why some choose to stay off site. They don't perceive on site as being convenient..... For example:the rooms are too small or not up to date. Convenience is our perceived value, for which we are willing to pay, and will differ for each resort guest. A perk is something more tangible that every guest experiences.....like resort mugs. They are the same "experience" for all resort guests.

Maybe Disney should just make their parks for onsite guests? That would eliminate the issue of perks :) LMAO but then you know what comes next? The onsite guests start turning on themselves because they don't have offsite "complainers" Then it will be "But I'm staying deluxe and paying more so I deserve more perks then the moderates, etc, etc"

Ok I see what you are saying but couldn't something that increases the value of doing something or just increases value overall be considered a perk? Regardless, as I said in an earlier post all that have been lobbying for more perks have obviously stayed onsite. They booked to stay onsite with the current perks that Disney has offered, so they felt they were adequate. What has changed all of a sudden that makes these perks no longer good enough? Will you still book onsite if the perks stay as is?

"Value" here is a word that can complicate the matter. It comes down to perceived values...which will differ from resort guest to resort guest, and actual perk value, which every resort guests experiences in the same fashion.

I don't know that the current value and perks are no longer good enough, but we are a consumer society, and are always looking for the best deal. So people are hoping that they can get more for their money.

Would I like to get more for my money? You bet! But as long as they don't start taking away perks, or doing something that would decrease my perceived value of an on site stay, I have no reason NOT to continuing booking on site.

That already happens.

I agree that the new FP+ systems and it loopholes are completely unfair. If I was staying offsite, I would be steaming mad and considering a switch. But, fortunately I am staying onsite and I leave for WDW in 1.5 weeks and....

1. Already have FP+'s all booked including 2 days in Epcot with TT, Soarin, & Maelstrom each day (made before the tier system)
2. I have AP's, so you can bet they will be getting put in the old machines during morning magic hours
3. As a DVC'er with a scrap-booking wife, I also have about 30 room only KTTW's from all our prior visits, packed and ready to go.

So, for all you off-siters, I am sorry but I am seeing a once in a lifetime opportunity where I am in the right side of and unfair system, and I can't help but to take advantage of it. If I where offsite, I would hate me, but if you were in my shoes wouldn't you be doing exactly what I am planning?

I am sure there are few who would not, but I bet there are far more that would, like 1% to 99%.

You, sir, are not on the RIGHT side of anything. In fact, I was so enraged by the thought of anyone doing this, I had to wait a few hours to even respond, as I'm sure my original thoughts would undoubtedly get me kicked off of the boards for language alone.

I have NO issues with you using your current KTTW card. But THIRTY old ones??! Really?? You do realize you are basically stealing, correct? Just because you are ABLE to, does not make it right by any means. And honestly, you are not even screwing over Disney, you are screwing over the off-site guests (by hoarding fp's, thus making even less available for them), AND on-site (by making them wait and wait while waiting for YOU to feed THIRTY tickets into the machine!). I'm sorry.....but WHY would you feel this is OK?!

I am usually not a pushy person by any means, I am go-with-the-flow individual. I may curse someone under my breathe if I see them being rude or taking advantage, RARELY will a make a fuss. But..... I can tell you right now, if I am standing in line and see you, or anyone else, feeding a multitude of tickets into the fp- machine, I will not hesitate to find the nearest CM and make a h*** of a stink!!

Chances are, this guy is completely BS'ing us. No way would anyone pack 30 room only cards and use them without getting caught and kicked out. Let him try it.

. Long story but I have some old tickets from 2006 and they are not convertible until I arrive. I have to be issued new tickets which I can't do until I arrive. So once I arrive (we are going Thanksgiving week) I get to spend a few hours picking FP+ Times. We've been to WDW many times since 2006 but bought annual passes.

Stealing really? :lmao:
Go to the DISabled board and tell them about stealing. They "stole" millions of tickets over a decade to get unlimited fast passes. :rotfl:
O and we have 50 old tickets:rotfl2:

So now you have gotten to a very fundamental premise of why the people that stay offsite are upset. They(for the time being) are taking away one of their perks(legacy fastpass) Their perceived value has diminished.

Doesn't Disney advertise about being immersed in the magic 24/7 when they push their rooms? If so they are trying to make it a perk of staying on property. Also I know they push the transportation as a perk but not everyone values that but it is still a perk to resort guests according to Disney.

I guess I'm just trying to say you can take something of value or that adds value and call it a perk. For you, convenience is a value to your stay but couldn't Disney spin that as a perk of staying onsite?(a perk that doesn't cost them anything, but may make someone happy)

Disney tolerated this system in Paris for more than ten years without any problem.

Paris is not WDW, where Cast Members are being trained on this new system. Anyway, I am 90% sure that the commenter who said that probably doesn't even have DVC or a wife. People say stuff on the internet to get a rise out of others.

Yep. Paying more than thousand Dollar per night I think Disney owns us more than those staying off site.
Entitled? No just asking for getting what I pay for.

You're talking about onsite vs offsite. We were referring to Deluxe vs Moderate vs Value.

I understand that....but as my parents always said over and over to me..... "Two wrongs don't make a right"......

I'm the last one to defend FP+ simply based on the lack of information regarding the entire system, but the one thing I don't think people have any right to complain about is preferred treatment that on-site resort guests receive. Sorry, but that's life. Disney SHOULD offer better incentives to guests willing to shell out the money to stay on property.

I agree 100% with this!! I get asked many times, what the incentives are for staying onsite and I think that Fastpass+ should be one of them! It helps to sell the resorts to some skeptics!!

I think you meant owes but if someone is paying $1000 a night for a Disney hotel Disney is definitely owning them ;)

I did consider this, I'm probably feeding a troll, lol. But what is disturbing to me is that other DIS'ers are agreeing with him.
