I have a Florida Resident AP voucher, and just found out that we may be moving to Michigan this summer, with no trip to the world in the works. I know I'll have to surrender my FL driver's license in order to get a MI license, and will therefore be unable to activate the pass as a resident. Do I try to upgrade to a regular AP when I take a trip in the future, or should I try to get there to activate this on the way North? (I'm assuming that the vouchers are not returnable.) I don't think I'll be planning a trip to Orlando during the coming year, with the expenses of moving and having two high school boys with few school breaks. Here, we enjoyed taking advantage of teacher work days to make long weekend trips. Thanks in advance for any advice you can give!

I may have a solution to your problem!
Kind of tricky, but try it!

You are a Florida resident right now right???

GO GET A FLORIDA ID!!!

That way you can surrender the Florida DL and still have proof of Fl. residency with the ID! I mean we are the SNOWBIRD state! How many people live in Fl. 6 months out of the year? They are mostly from Michigan, NJ, NY, Canada, Penn.

This way you can take advantage of your AP passes!

Hope this helps you!

Jaime~
Wow! That never occurred to me! I suppose I'd just go to the department of motor vehicles?
Thanks again for your help!

Jaime,
We were just there last week to scope out the Ann Arbor area, and it's absolutely beautiful! We've also lived in Cleveland, so we have some experience with the snow and ice. We've been in Florida for six years, and we're looking for a change. We will miss our twice yearly trips to the world, but I figure we'll just go and stay for at least a week, like others do!
Thanks again for your advice on the Florida ID card! I emailed the DMV and was told that it's OK to hold both a driver's license and ID at the same time.
If not for your suggestion, I might have activated the AP and then wasted most of it, since I wouldn't be traveling back anytime soon. You saved me a lot of money!:wave2:

You could also "lose" your FL license and have to go get a duplicate. Keep one turn one in.

Sneaky, Aquagirl, but effective!
Looks like I'll be braving the lines at the DMV soon in either case.
Thanks for taking the time to help out!

Here in WAshington we cannot posses an ID and Drivers Livcence at the same time. (MY daughter had to surrender the ID to get her Permit then licnece)

I like the idea of losing your licence, he he. Thats a good one. Have you thought about calling Disney to see what they might say?

Id love to hear your answer on this one.
