Hey, ain't no shame in planning three full days at MK because of the FL expansion.

Right?!?

I was going to say throw caution to the wind. But I also understand if you're unable to do that.

I'm pretty sure we'll be doing this. Southwest comes out with their flights for that time of the year, tomorrow!! It's always more real and feels set in stone when you make your flights!!

Camille, I finally gotmy responses done to an update and a new update done, so I'm now trying to catch up on everyone else's threads.

for an extra day (or two). I'm with Mackensie...I would love more time at the AK...the park has really grown on me over the years.

I know just what you mean, it always seems I never get enough time there to truly enjoy it. This time it will be our first park, so we'll explore until our explorer poops out. Then on our second AK day we'll hit the highlights and anything we may have missed with Maroo.

since you are going during a slow time, i wouldnt put to much stress on the touring plans other suggest on those sites.

we did AK, on a saturday with EMH and it wasnt bad at all, example the safari, fast pass distributions where less than an hour out of the actual time we picked them up...

if you are looking for crowd calanders though i checked out this guys a few times.

So.........


I have flights!!

As of now, I won't be leaving on the 5th after all. To add the 5th it was going to be $120 more than the flight leaving on the 6th.

And to add insult to injury, the times they released in May are pretty bad. I thought for sure there would be really great times released with the dates, but the earliest flight out of Austin is 9:00 something, on a Monday! Our flight out for a reasonable price is at 11:15. As much as I appreciate not having to get up before the sun does, I'm not thrilled about missing out on an entire day in WDW.

Seriously, SW?!? How did they reason that one out?!?
A lot of people fly out for business on Mondays, so I'm hoping they will release some more times in the future as they see they will need to. (I hope- I hope-I hope)

My Mr. Incredible said something about looking into Dallas airport for earlier times, which they have, but I'm not sure an additional $100 is worth getting there just a couple of hours earlier. Not to mention the extra costs of driving there, hotel costs, food. <big heavy sigh> May as well take the one from Austin for $20 more than the Dallas flight, which I don't think is a good idea.
If we were to drive to Dallas and leave early out of Dallas we'll get to MCO at 12:45 which will put us at about 2:00 ish before we get to the resort, if we leave from Austin it will be 2:40 ish when we get in, which will put us at about 4:00ish when we get to the resort.

I think it's obvious that I need to wait it out to see if SW adds earlier flights for the 5th or the 6th and hope for the best. If not.....then we'll still be in WDW and we'll still have an amazing time. The AK day will work it's self out, I'm sure.

On an amazing note, after all my pissiness about flight times.....

Turns out I had a credit still in my account from a previous flight I hadn't taken. The customer service rep. added this to my our flights, (or we will come Nov. 19th) this CS guy was awesome!! (he went waaaay above and beyond) He reduced our flight for the later time we needed to fly back home, by taking $50 dollars off each of our flights. He did this to make it easier for Mackie and I to not have to get up 5:00 a.m. just to catch the cheaper flight.

How seriously cool was that?!?

He also held our seats at the price they are now (with the discount) so when I book in Nov. they will still be the same price (have to book in Nov. to make my credits/voucher work-they're only good for 6 months from the time you activate them-so Nov. 19 it is).
All in all I will be paying oop about $80 dollars per person both ways.

Not too shabby, ba-be!

Sorry the flights weren't working out the way you wanted them. I'm glad the CS rep worked hard to save you some money. And typically the best airline prices come out about 2 months before the flight dates, so there's still hope for you.

It's funny you say that Dan because the Sat. prices and times are great, just can't do it on that day because Mackenzie has a huge dance production her dance team puts on every year. She has to be there for it, and no late flights that evening either.

Maroo has her flights already!!! This is coming together!!! Now we just need Pat's DVC rooms to be booked and her time off and we're all set!!
