If you purchase these tickets and stay onsite, basically you can get into the parks 2 hours before? or after. As anyone ever done this and basically how do we find out and what do we do?

Anyone staying on site at Disney with any kind of ticket can take advantage of the Extra Magical Hours, which are usually one hour before published opening and 3 hours after published closing. It is usually only one park per morning or evening which does this on a rotation basis and you can find out on the official WDW website or in the park guides when you get there.

To my knowledge the ultimate ticket doesn't give you any extra hours at the parks, you simply get a 14 or 21 park hopper, with access to Pleasure Island, the water parks, and Disney Quest for as many days as you like in that 14/21 day period thrown in.

You do get extra hours by staying at a WDW resort. This is called Extra Magic Hours.

You get 1 hour in the morning and up to 3 hours at night at selected parks & water parks (different ones depending on day of the week and time of the year, you can look them up on the WDW website).

At morning EMH, you just have to show your "Keys to the Kingdom" card (that's doorcard to most people :) ) when entering, and for the evening ones you pick up a special writeband at select locations in the park from about 3 hours prior to the start of EMH, these wristbands will then be checked before you re allowed on any rides after EMH starts.

I may get corrected and told there is something special for UK guests with ultimate tickets, but I think that's how it works.

Lol but I am half asleep after rereading had to alter for some typos!!

Also as you say the door key is your 'pass' for gaining access to EMH and therefore everyone booked into your room needs one.

If you've got kids and you register your Credit card against your door key that can be a very scarey thought.... :rotfl2:

Just keep hold of your kids door cards ;) :teeth:

I think you can bar charging to cards for kids or anyone else for that matter.

Hi

They ask you whether you want charging priveleges on the cards so you can block them!

As you say looks like kids cards are blocked by default for charging unless you ask for them to be activated!!
