Two Way Radios

What do you think of two way radios at Disney World?

  • Disney shouldn't allow them because people use them during shows!

  • Disney should allow them because they are very helpful for contacting others throughout the parks!

  • Disney should allow them, but people should only use them sparingly and turn them off during shows!

We are going in October and are planning on bringing our two-way radios, but we are also bringing our NEXTEL direct connet/cell phones. Nextel is going nationwide and are already in FLA. This way, we won't get everyone else's interference all day.

Apart from the obvious, what is the difference between cell phones and radios? Both ring, both can be turned off during a show/ride. It shouldn't be a question of phone or radio. The question should be popcorn or expulsion from the attracton/ride for the discourteous offender. Perhaps the offender should be sent to electronic courtesy school. (And I say that 1/2 jokingly.)IMHO.:D

We use radios, and they are very helpful. I would only use radios w/sub channels at WDW. The others would be useless. We purchased the kind that also have the vibrate feature. This way when we need to get ahold of each othere, we press the "call" button. It makes the other persons radio vibrate silently, so it does not disturb anyone including us if we are on a ride or in a show. When we are tied up at an attraction and can't talk, we "call" the person back. Which causes thier radio to vibrate silently, and lets them know we heard them, but are experiencing an attraction at the moment, hold tight and we will call you back in a few minutes when we exit. This way everyone can still enjoy the attractions as there is no noise to disturb us. Pressing the "call" button only takes a second and does not ditract for our fun. The best thing is: we can still get ahold of each other:bounce:
