Two trips are better than one! A June and September 2016 PTR-new trip report link

That is seriously cool that you can watch Wishes from your room and be that close to MK. I don't think it matters what the resort looks like under those circumstances! You did manage to get a lot done on arrival day too which is awesome.

Our room wasn't ready after lunch so we dropped off a bag with the valet and walked over to MK and got a lot done, 7DMT, Space, Splash, Pirates, The People mover

Holy crap! You got all that done... after arriving at 2pm?? Not bad!

All I have to say is OMG! The view is to die for. We are sitting on the balcony right now watching the electric water pagent float by, it's pretty surreal.

Whoa. That's one nice view!

We're just going to hang out here and have our own private Wishes party!

Sweeeeet.

Hi guys!
Just a quick update from yesterday with a few pics to share. We started the day saying we would take it easy and that plan flew out the window when we kept finding ourselves saying, "hey, let's do this, and this, and this!" And it ended up being a long day. We walked 7.45 miles, over 20,000 steps so I have no guilt eating this beauty

Strawberry cupcake from Roaring Forks at WL
I'm getting ahead of myself being all enchanted with by cupcake ..
Anyhow, we started our day at MK yesterday and said hi to Pan twice, took a cruise with a small doll party, took the wildest ride in the wilderness, rocketed through space, and paid our respect to the COP just to name a few. We then took the boat to WL to have a look around. I have to say, I honest don't know what all the people are freaking out about ( cough cough) the construction there is really no big deal. It really is beautiful. After lunch there we went back to our room to drop cupcake off in the fridge and headed over to Hollywood studios. We played a game with Woody and the gang and had a quick trip with Aerosmith and then bounced ( well took the boat actually) to the Yacht & Beach club. We checked out both lobbies and found a nice corner to hang out in until our ADR at Beaches and Cream. I really loved this place! I got the patty melt sorry no pic and a beer
image.jpeg
Dang that was good, could be my new fav! And then Dray and I shared this cup of loveliness
image.jpeg
Milky Way Sundae
Do you see on the right side where I snagged a spoonful before a snapped a pic? Sorry, couldn't resist !
After dinner we walked back to HS and grabbed a bus home. It was a full but awesome day! Just a couple more pics to share..

Despite no pretzels on the pooper, look at that view!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! How amazing for you guys. Glad the first day was wonderful and fingers crossed the heat dissipates a bit so you can truly enjoy. Can't wait for more!

The view is crazy awesome. I feel like a total spoiled brat. It's still pretty much Africa hot but it's all good. :flower1:

So happy for you!!!!

Thanks Liesa :goodvibes

Ya I may have cried just a little during wishes :bitelip:. I think you're right I could sleep in a tent on the roof for that kind of view:rotfl: as long as the tent was air conditioned...

Holy crap! You got all that done... after arriving at 2pm?? Not bad!

Commando park touring at it's best my friend!

Whoa. That's one nice view!

Thanks! Once again, I'm a spoiled brat. My son actually picked the hotel and view so I have him to thank

You did get a lot done! I envy your Africa hot, and location, of course!

You can have the Africa hot!

And that's a great picture!

Aw thanks!

Also I want that cupcake!

So yummy! The cupcakes are HUGE aren't they?

Just joining in now. I really want to stay at the Contemporary someday it looks awesome!

:wave2: Hi! :welcome: It really is great. It never was on my bucket list but I'm so glad I got the chance to stay here.

We're also going in September and December!

Wow that's crazy that you'll be here in September and December also!! I'm looking forward to December temps here!

Hi guys!
Just a quick mid day update !
We slept in a bit this morning and missed EMH hours at AK but we needed the little bit of extra sleep. We finally got to AK around 9:00 and did the safari and Kali River. Have you seen those people that get off Kali looking like they just went through the car wash? Well that was us. We were the lucky ones facing backwards going down the drop  but it felt great! We then had a lunch ADR at Yak and Yeti and absolutely loved it! We started with a couple of these little jewels
image.jpeg
Yak attack
And then I got the teriyaki mahi mahi
image.jpeg
And my son got the duck
image.jpeg
Both dishes were really, really good! The service was super and we were both really happy and commented that we would absolutely come back again. After lunch we rode Everest, and it was better than I remembered! We had a FP for Soarin at 2:20 and it was getting close to 2:00 so we high tailed it on outta AK to try and make it to Epcot but the bus line was sooooooo loooooonnnnng and we decided to take a MK bus and hop on the monorail to Epcot instead. Mistake. By the time we got to MK our Everest and Yak Attack buzz had worn off and we were draggin'. So we are now currently in the room taking a siesta. Plans are to visit MK tonight since it's open until midnight. image.jpeg
Check out Dray's face! Cracks me up

Namaste'!

We started the day saying we would take it easy and that plan flew out the window when we kept finding ourselves saying, "hey, let's do this, and this, and this!"

 Isn't that the way it always happens??

We walked 7.45 miles, over 20,000 steps

Isn't that crazy? "We're taking it easy..." and that turns into seven and a half miles.

took a cruise with a small doll party

I'm so sorry for your experience.

After lunch there we went back to our room to drop cupcake off in the fridge

You did what?!?!? You didn't devour it immediately???

We checked out both lobbies and found a nice corner to hang out in until our ADR at Beaches and Cream. I really loved this place!

::yes::

And then Dray and I shared this cup of loveliness

Milky Way Sundae

Oh, man. That looks scrumptious.

Do you see on the right side where I snagged a spoonful before a snapped a pic? Sorry, couldn't resist !

Honestly? Can't blame you.

The coveted red card!

Have you seen those people that get off Kali looking like they just went through the car wash? Well that was us.

::yes::

And then I got the teriyaki mahi mahi
And my son got the duck

Those look good. I think I'm going to have to put Yak & Yeti higher up on my list.
And that Yak Attack? Mmmm.... gotta get me one of those, too.

By the time we got to MK our Everest and Yak Attack buzz had worn off and we were draggin'. So we are now currently in the room taking a siesta.

Nothing wrong with that.
No sense wearing yourselves out when you've just started.

Check out Dray's face! Cracks me up

::yes::

Looking forward to December temps too! We've only been in September so it'll be nice.

Bummer that you missed Soarin', but you had since a lovely morning all in all. I really like Y and Y. Great stuff and good drinks!!

Hope your evening in MK is magical!!!

The Never Ending Wish List
Food Edition

I have an enormous food wish list for this trip! We are basically Disney restaurant newbie's, the only place (besides counter service) we've been to at DW is BOG, and that was for lunch, so kinda counts, but not really. :rolleyes1 I really enjoyed BOG but DH says he'd like to try some other places before we go back. I've been pouring over a LOT of dining reports, which only makes my list grow longer. :surfweb: At one point we had talked about doing the DP premium pkg but I'm afraid we'd spend the majority of our time eating and trying to do all the activities ( golf, tours, cirque Du Soleil, etc...) to make it worth it we then we would have zero park time. So we went with the DxDP to try to get in at least one signature restaurant a day.
Since the hubs says I can make all the ADR's my heart desires on this trip I'm going to load up!
So the food wish list in no particular order :
Boma - Breakfast
Le Cellier -lunch or Dinner
Jiko - dinner
Biergarten -lunch or dinner
Narcoossee's - Dinner
Kona Cafe -breakfast
California Grill -dinner
Yak &Yeti -lunch
Flying Fish Cafe -dinner
Sci Fi Theater -lunch
50's Prime Time Cafe -lunch
The Boathouse - lunch or dinner
Morimoto Asia ( should be open by 10/2016, hoping they participate in the DP)
Whispering Canyon Cafe -B, L or dinner
Hoop De Do Musical Review -dinner
Ohana -Dinner
Via Napoli-lunch

Plus we are going during F&W !

Realistically there is NO WAY we are going to hit all of these so it will be interesting how it plays out.
ADR date 4/3/2016 it's a Sunday!!!!! I totally lucked out, now I don't have to convince DH that I need the day off of work to make ADR's!!! I'm going to need some coaching from the ADR Yoda @Elevationist :yoda:

Hoping y'all will have some input and ideas to help me organize this list and give me some opinions on what you would eliminate or save for next time. I want to have a good variety but DH says he is good with seafood a few times since ya just can't get decent seafood in CO! :fish:
the narrowing it down is going to be the hardest!!
You have to do Artist Point if you stay at Wilderness lodge! Great wine selection and the cobbler is outta sight!

Sounds like your yak attack siesta was well earned!!!! Glad you enjoyed Yak n Yeti. It's definitely one of our favs

Bummer that you missed Soarin', but you had since a lovely morning all in all. I really like Y and Y. Great stuff and good drinks!!

We ended up going back to Epcot last night after a nap just for Soarin. Unfortunately they had only one theater operating so we stood in the standby line for close to 90 minutes, but it was worth it! It was nice to see the old film one last time before they bring out the new one. :)

You have to do Artist Point if you stay at Wilderness lodge! Great wine selection and the cobbler is outta sight!

Artist Point is stil on my bucket list, it really looks great!

I am really enjoying your trip report! Thanks for sharing!

HI Jenny!:wave2: thanks so much for reading along!

Hey guys ! Just another quick trip update! When we left off yesterday we were back at the room napping off our yak attack buzz ( I might have accidentally on purpose had 2, oops!) and we decided to monorail it over to Epcot to see if we could catch Soarin' before we went back to the MK. It was a 90 minute standby wait mostly because they were having technical difficulties with one theater but it was worth it! And now the obligatory Spaceship Earth pic
image.jpeg

So pretty at night !
We then went back over to MK for EMH that ended up not being quite so magic just because wait times were still pretty long, so we mostly walked around and rode Dumbo and Buzz and came back to the hotel. This morning we slept in a bit and then went back over to Epcot. We tested that track and visited Mexican Small World and paid our respect to Canada. Cool film by the way! So My fav non boozy drink of the day... Strawberry oolong tea slushy from the China pavilion, yum!! So if some of you recall I was all twitterpated to try the cronut. I'm kinda nervous about it now because ( insert sad music here) I have discovered I'm not a fan of the churro. I'm so sorry churro fans.:rolleyes1 I've tried the churro cupcake and the regular churro and they just don't float my boat. I'm really afraid to try the coveted cronut for fear it will taste like a churro! Can anyone prove me wrong on that one?
Anyhow.... Churro rant over.
After Epcot we went to Disney Springs to do some shoppin and went to Wolfgang Puck Express for a late lunch, it was really good!
Warning! More food pics!
image.jpeg
Chicken Alfredo with mushrooms and peas, yum!
Dray got the pesto and goat cheese pizza he said it was really good as well. Sorry for some reason it's telling me my photo is to big to post so no picture of that one.
We are back at the room now resting before our California Grill dinner and it's raining. We have had super weather up until now so we don't mind a bit. It's supposed to rain most of the day tomorrow thanks to some tropical depression in the gulf so we may alter our plans a bit depending on what the day brings. We have breakfast with Pooh and his buddies at Crystal Palace and dinner at Le Cellier tomorrow. I can't believe tomorrow is our last full day already!:sad1: But we've been having a great time so far! Just a few more pics to leave you with for today
image.jpeg
Another awesome view from our room shot

Churro cupcake
I'm glad I tried it but it's just not for me. Sorry Mr. Churro I'm sure somebody loves you
