My wonderful daughter is turning 9 on the cruise. Other then the room decoration and birthday cake is there anything I can do to make it special? Are there b-day pins she can wear like WDW. Going on the 8 night from NYC to Bahamas. Thank you!

You can pick up a "it's my birthday" button at Guest Services. She should get one at dinner that night, but if you pick it up earlier in the day, the CMs will wishing her a happy birthday all day.
Make sure the birthday is noted on your reservation. And (discreetly) make mention of it to your dining room servers prior to the big day.
She'll get a chocolate mousse-style cake and the servers will sing happy birthday to her at dinner:

And they will sing for EVERY birthday! My parents and I were laughing so hard at Carioca's on the Magic in Feb. I swear the night we were in there there were at least 8 birthdays. Every time we'd see the gathering of servers we were like "Again????" They couldn't even get the silly napkin hats for everyone done they were singing so much. A server from across the room did ours as his section already had them and was pretty much emptied out by then.
Night 4 in Lumiere's there were about 4. We just looked at each other and cracked up.
My oldest DS turned 11 on our first cruise on the Fantasy (eastern caribbean). Besides doing the above, my husband mentioned it to our room stewart in passing and this is what we came back to the room to find in the evening (in addition to our towel origami animals)...
It was SO SWEET! We didn't take the cake home (obviously) but the lithograph was awesome! It came with a big envelope and cardboard to make sure it didn't get crushed on the way home. It was such a great way to make his day special.
Thank you for the tips! We are trying to keep the port day at WDW a secret...I booked O'hana's for dinner...I'm not sure I can hold out because she keeps talking about wanting to go back to Epcot and Animal Kingdom! I guess I should be thankful that I have these "problems".

LOL! Don't I wish! No, we were in a cat. 4B. We later realized that it was one of the lithographs that the concierge guests get. Very special gift for DS.
Exactly! My youngest DS was begging to celebrate his 10th bday with a cruise. So on his 10th bday, he got a very special phone call from Goofy telling him that he was taking a cruise. I still am kicking myself for not having videotaped his response...he got the biggest smile on his face I've ever seen and kept asking, "Really? Are we really going??" DOH! Our server asked me very quietly what night we wanted to celebrate (I wanted it done the last night) but in the meanwhile, he brought my DS multiple "special" desserts every night and DS couldn't figure it out! He loved it though Your DD will have the best birthday ever!! So happy for you guys to celebrate on the high seas!!
