My family is going to WDW in the end of August, and my wife and I are considering applying for the TSA Pre-Check. We will be traveling with my two sons aged 5 and almost 1. My youngest son will require formula and a stroller to be brought through security. Understanding that the pre check line is supposed to speed up the security process. How does TSA feel when you stroll up with formula and a stroller that will require "special" attention? Will they make you go through the regular security line? Is it even worth it for my wife and I to get the Pre-Check?

If you have pre-check it should be OK. I might declare the formula beforehand which may cause some additional screening. The kids won't need KTNs due to their age.

Even with TSA Pre you still have to follow the restrictions on liquids but you can keep the 3-1-1 bag in your carryon so I think it would be fine with formula as well. Like a pp said I would be sure and follow the guidelines on formula (as much as reasonably necessary for the length of travel) and have it separate.

Children 12 and under can accompany you through the TSA pre so I would go ahead and do it!

Thanks. I am not overly concerned on 3-1-1 because we are flying Southwest. So we will be checking bags. We have never traveled with powdered formula before so that will be a new experience. I think we will just travel with what we need for the flight and then check the rest. My wife tends to over pack so I think it would be best to put most of the formula in checked luggage.

There is no problem / restriction with powder formula you can bring as much as you like, I assumed you were talking about liquid formula! The only issues are with liquids over 3.4oz -
I would travel with at least double what you need for the flight (maybe more if it is a hard to find brand) this way your covered in case of delays or misdirected checked bags.

When we travel we still will probably have it in powder form. When we get through security then we will add the water (we bought a brita water bottle to filter tap water).

Just wanted to mention children 12 and under can go through with a precheck adult. Once they turn 13, they need to register and get their own number.

Oops thanks for pointing that out just a typo :) - 12 and under with a parent.

If you are going to apply for Pre Check, do it soon. I am hearing of long delays for appointments for final approval.

We just submitted the application last night and were able to get appointments for next week. Since we aren't traveling till August i am not concerned.

Appointments for pre-check seem to be easy to get. Appointments for Global Entry seems to be 3-4 months out.

My adult daughters filled out the forms online last Friday 5/13 - walked in to the center without an appointment and were processed after waiting just over an hour, they had the KTN on Monday 5/16.

We are travelling in 3 weeks to Disney and considering purchasing the TSA PreCheck. Do I still have time? It seems the previous poster had a positive experience, anyone else done it last minute?

From what I am reading, as long as you can get into a center it is pretty quick.

And even if you can't preschedule an appointment you can fill out the forms online as a "walk in" and then go at your leisure if your willing to wait!

Our center had appointments about a week out but I knew we had time last Friday (dd's are in college) so we took a chance and walked in. Even on a Friday afternoon it was just over an hour wait and well worth it to us to get both dd's done with our busy schedules.

When you apply it will ask you what document you are bringing. I am bringing my passport. But I know birth certificate was another as well as an Enhanced drivers license.

I got the Pre-Check with my 21 yo DD in February. Make sure to add your KTN to your airline information when booking or before. Also, be aware that even if you have purchased Pre-Check it is not a guaranty that you will get it every time. DD just flew DTW to Paris on Sunday and did not get Pre-Check -- even after Delta looked up her KTN again. We were told about this when we registered to get Pre-Check, so I was not surprised. We flew to Mexico in March with Pre-Check, so I don't believe it was simply because her flight on Sunday was international.

Passport is definitely best; use it if you have one. If you use driver's license, you also need to bring a birth certificate. Also, if you are a married woman who changed her name, you'll need your marriage license as well, to prove that the birth certificate and driver's license match the same person.

TSA won't care about the baby stuff in terms of time. If it's on your BP, you're special enough.

We fly out on 5/30. I signed up on 5/11 for my niece and I. We had our appointment on 5/17 at 4:45pm. Both of us received our numbers today. So there should still be time.
