I just got done watching Trace Adkins sing "Then They Do" (anyone heard this?) on the Grand Ole Opry. Had to wipe a tear from my eye before going into DS (5) room to tell him for the ??th time to go to bed. DW is in with DD (3) trying to get her to go to sleep...again.

Very touching song....I always have to look at my DS (2) when that song comes on I know before I blink an eye, He will be grown and gone. The first 2 years seemed like seconds.

I can agree with you both.....with 5 DCherubs it seems like only yesterday that I was holding 14 yo DS and rocking him to sleep. I have this old Ann Landers clipping on my cork board in my office entitled babyhood rushed by too fast and I can honestly say I have never "wished" for them to walk or talk or anything because before you know it they are grown up.....and you can't get those years back.....sigh.

I don't know the song you mentioned but understand all too well the sentiment behind it.

I had three children under the age of 5 and was forever saying I wish they could walk/talk etc as I found it so hard to cope.My Mum said these are the easiest years not the hardest as you know where they are all the time, safe with you. When they are teenagers and out, especially at night, you will wish they were tucked up safe in bed and small children again.

Now I have 3 teenagers,we are having so much trouble with DD age 16 at present..........Mum you were right:(
