Trip Number Ten ~ We're Going Again! Plus a side trip!

Your plans look wonderful!!!! I just caught up on all your plans today! I can't wait to hear what you think about Il Mulino!!! We ate there for the first time in May and it is now my favourite meal EVAH on Disney property and we're very close to having eaten at all of them! I had the rigatoni Con Funghi (Rigatoni with Wild Mushrooms, Garlic and truffle Oil) and it was absolutely spectacular. I can hardly wait to go back!!

Have a fabulous trip!!!! :cheer2:

We LOVE Chefs!!! We have been there at least 4x. The kids love it too!

DH and I went to Il Mulino in Feb. it was ok. I guess I was expecting more.
We both love Italian and went to an Il Mulino in New Jersey and it was one of the best restaurants we've been to.
I hope it's good for you.

I'm a little nervous about Chef's. I think DH and I will be fine, just not sure what the kids will get there.

I hope we have a good experience at Il Mulino. :)

Cape May is our favorite breakfast!:goodvibes Haven't been for the clam buffet :crazy2: I don't eat that stuff! LOL!!
We are scheduled for BOG also,...so I need pics and lots of deets!! I had seriously considered canceling it~but figured I could wait for your report...only because I have heard that the time it takes to get in and out is around 2 hours...Haven't heard anything good or bad in the last little while, so hopefully that is all ironed out and it won't take longer than a regular TS place... And I think ours is lunchtime...I forget...I am excited to just go in there though...we got a sneak peek last Nov and it was sooo amazing. Enchanting. I loved the foyer and the little Knights Hallway...
I cannot believe you are at 8 days!!!! And I am not sure if you are looking at Accuweather...but for Tampa they are showing around 85 the first two days of your trip...and yes...thunderstorms, but no 90s...small consolation I know! Do you check the Orlando local news station? I do sometimes and have found that Accuweather is pretty much right on with them~ I think it's channel 13 Orlando or something like that. Well...I am so excited for you! I know for me at 8 days, I am making about 1000 lists so I don't forget anything and i have piles all over my bedroom floor of who is taking what... It's so much easier now that they are older and we don't have to pack a backpack full of airplane toys for each kid! Happy packing girlie!!!

We did Cape May for breakfast once and we didn't love it. :confused3

There is a lot more than clams on the CM dinner buffet!! :rotfl: Believe me, if it were all seafood I wouldn't even consider going there!!

Oh good grief. I won't be too happy if BOG takes 2 hours! :faint: That's crazy. Anything over an hour is wasting my Disney time!! :scared1: You must have a dinner ADR there, because they are CS at lunch I believe. I'll be sure to give you my honest opinion when we get back. Maybe I'll shoot you a couple of pics when we are there if I remember! :thumbsup2

You know, I wasn't even looking at Tampa! :upsidedow Just Orlando! I guess I just keep putting the beach part of the trip out of my mind. :confused3 Starting to wonder if maybe we should cancel and go to WDW the whole time!! I do have one of those local Orlando stations bookmarked, I'll have to take a look and see what they are saying as we get closer. I'm sure it's going to be HOT and HUMID and with that will come a daily shower. And that's fine, as long as it's not a set in all day rain kind of thing.

Oh you should see my bedroom floor. :crazy2: Stuff everywhere!!

Your ADR's look good. There are several there that I've never tried so I'm interested to hear about them.

I loved the buffet at CMC!! But I love crab legs. DH wasn't crazy about it, but he doesn't really like buffets. He prefers to be served and not have to serve himself. :snooty: :upsidedow

We liked Chef's, but didn't love it. DH still talks about the Lobster Bisque soup, but that won't help you land lovers. To me, Remy was the best part. Is he still there?

We are trying BoG on this trip too! I really want to hear what you think about it. You might have to go ahead and spill the beans for me early so I'll know if it's worth keeping.

We also might try BRG this time too because you always give it such good reviews. Isn't it the loaded nachos that you like so good there? I think I'll try those. We had an ADR for 50's PTC that night, but we might cancel and take the boat over to the Boardwalk.

And Kona for breakfast... YUM! Can't go wrong there. We went there last year because of your suggestion and loved it. I'd like to try it for dinner also. I heard it's good then too. Gosh, I'm hungry... I'm going to see what I can scrape up for lunch! ;)

Yeah, I'm not too crazy about buffets anymore myself. Not really because I have to get my own food though, just the cleanliness, or lack thereof. :scared1: :rotfl: I try to limit it to one per trip anymore!

I'm nervous about Chef's... :confused3 I'll definitely tell you all about BOG! Hopefully it will be a good report! :thumbsup2 You should head over to BRG when you are at DHS. We love that place!! Yep, I usually get the beef nachos, very good. :)

Thanks! :goodvibes Glad you are all caught up!!

Thanks for your thoughts on Il Mulino. I need to look over the menu again and see what it is that I was going to order!

I thought you didn't want to try BOG. What made you change your mind?

We did try it for lunch. My parents loved their meal. I didn't like mine. But the inside is beautiful!! I'll have to look at the menu to remember what we had. I'll let you know.

I'm here, I'm here, I'm here I'm here I'm heeerrrreeee!!:cool1:

Your dining plans all sound wonderfully delicious!!! I'm so excited for you to try BOG. I can't wait to hear all about it. Il Mulino-- is that the restaurant you sent me that link to where they were cooking? I can't remember. If that's the place, then it looks really really good. And the Garden Grove- I can't believe they got rid of the buffet but I'm guessing that since it's never crowded that they were wasting too much food.:guilty:

BRG.... we'll always have BRG. And Kona.:goodvibes

You have been to a ton of restaurants! I wouldn't say you've reached Hog Status yet. Get back to me when you have a picture of you double fisting two egg rolls. Then we can talk.:scared: ;)

Let's see, what else....:scratchin

Oh yeah. Your FOF. Since I am the self appointed Queen of all FOF's, I have to say I think yours won't be all that bad this time. Okay I lie.:rotfl2: It might be bad since you waited so late to pack. You are becoming me, m'dear. ::yes::

So I have to ask--- since I leave on a Friday, would my FOF be ON the day I leave or would it happen the week before? Ohmygosh. What if I don't get to have a Freak Out Friday?????????:crazy2: What if I have to have a Tantrum Thursday instead???? Maybe I should back it up even another day so as to get the full effect, if I can't have a proper FOF, and instead have a Whirlwind Wednesday??? ooooh boy. :faint: Everyone within a 20 mile radius better look out on those days. Oh this is so stressful to me. Yes It is Friday today but its not even MY FOF day and I'm getting panicky. Dang. :scared: :confused3 :faint:
I don't even know what to do. Think I better go get some tea.

PS---- go watch those youtube videos. I swear you will feel like you're watching me!!:lmao:

I really want to try Kona for breakfast. I'm not a big breakfast person, but the last time I tried the tonga toast at capt. Cooks it didn't seem very fresh to me. I think I told you that story before. So I'd really like to have it at the restaurant.

Over Labor Day weekend I only requested Narcoossees for my b-day dinner to watch wishes. :)that is our only ADR.
So maybe we can go to Kona one morning for breakfast.

I didn't want to try it in December. It had just opened and I figured it would be hard getting an ADR and super crowded and the menu didn't really interest me. I figured I would let the newness of it die down a bit and now I'm ready to give it a try! I even found something on the menu that I want. I don't remember at the moment what it is though! :upsidedow Again, I don't think the boys are going to be all that interested in too much there. They might be getting mini corndogs beforehand and just ordering dessert at BOG! :rotfl:

YAY you're here!!!!!!!!!!!!:cool1:

I'm excited to try BOG too! We even watched B&TB to get prepared! :rotfl: Yep, Il Mulino is the place I sent you that video about! I hope it's good.

Yeah, IDK what happened with the Garden Grove. I guess they are trying something new to get more business. :confused3 But the new menu didn't look all that good.

Egg Rolls....:rotfl2::lmao: Yeah. Not gonna happen.

Yep - we always have Kona and BRG. :cloud9:

Well, IDK what you are going to do about your Freak Out Friday.... That is quite the situation you have there... :confused3 :lmao::rotfl:

Oh and I just took a look at those videos on Youtube!! Oh my gosh - that one girl is you!!!!!!! :rotfl2::rotfl2: I felt like I was on Facetime with you!! :rotfl:

I'm not a breakfast person at all. As in never eat it! But I LOVE Kona!! I just make it for like 10:30 or something like that and it becomes more like an early lunch. :thumbsup2

Sounds like a nice birthday dinner!

Good choices!

We did Chefs about 3 years ago and my kids did just fine - even picky Sarah - they can get the usual kids things, Mac & cheese, chicken fingers...

How many times are you going to eat at Kona?? Just breakfast?

I'd like to try Cape May for dinner, only eaten there for breakfast.

Your ADR's look great! I can't believe that you know how many times you've eaten at each place. That's pretty amazing. :thumbsup2

We ate at Cape May Café for breakfast and loved it! I've never tried the clam bake. DH and I love seafood but our sons don't. I'm interested to hear what other foods they offer besides seafood. Maybe I'll still get there one day. Big River Grill is on our list for an upcoming trip. We ate at ESPN last time and liked it. We also want to try Kona for breakfast. We actually had it booked on a previous trip but ended up cancelling it because we were exhausted and needed a day to sleep in.

You are right... i went back and looked and my ressie is 6:15...

I'd like to try lunch there as well.... Maybe next time.

Well I'm worried with the kids not being "kids" at Disney. There is nothing they will eat of the adult menu there. Should be interesting...

I wish some of these places would offer an adult size of the kids choices!!

We are just going to Kona once, for breakfast. We've never done dinner there, the menu doesn't really interest us.

You should try Cape May for dinner sometime! :thumbsup2

Kona at 10:30 is the best time to go! Gives you time to do whatever you need to in the morning and then mosey on over to breakfast and you're good till supper! It's what time we always do it too. ::yes::

I can't believe you watched BatB!! That's cute!:cloud9:

You watched the videos!!:rotfl2: I swear, that one where she says "My mama is driving me crazy!"----- how many times have you heard me say that one??

Yes I do have quite a situation with my FOF. If I could, I'd bless my own heart.:rotfl:

I know, we've been to a lot of places! :faint: I didn't realize it until I typed it all out!

I'm trying to remember what all they have at Cape May for dinner... I am thinking there was salads, corn on the cob, mac & cheese, chicken, roasted potatoes, etc. And then there was pizza and chicken nuggets and so on for the kids. Plus a ton of desserts!

I love having brunch at Kona!! :thumbsup2

Yeah, even DS14 sat through B&TB. :rotfl:

Oh yes, that one girl is you - spot on!! Too funny! :rotfl:

Wow! That is a quite a list of places you've eaten at! My family has a tendency to just eat at the same places all the time...I'm lucky if I can get them to branch out to one new place per trip! I am determined to eat at new places on our next trip (whenever that may be)!

If you're not on the dining plan you don't need to worry about what menu they order from. My DSs have often ordered from the kids menu.

Most of the restaurants are so accommodating! There are lots of things my DSs like on the adult menu too, but cooked plain.
For example- DS12 LOVES salmon but at the Flying Fish he didn't want all the "stuff" it came with. So they put it on a bed of Mickey pasta. He was in heaven! ;) not the cheapest meal but he loved it lol

So if you see something they might like if it didn't have all that "stuff" on it ask them to make it plain.
I always say they are still kids and don't eat like adults.

Sorry if you already knew all that. :)

We always like to try new resorts and new restaurants, since we are vacationing in the same place every year! :upsidedow

When are you thinking your next trip will be??

I know a lot of places don't care if the kids order from the kids menu, especially since we don't have the DDP. But I have to wonder how much longer they will let DS14... he is bigger than me and is starting to grow a mustache!! :rotfl:

That's good to know that they will work with us and make some of the adult choices plain. Thanks for letting me know! :thumbsup2

Yeah just ask Shelly. Every restaurant was so accommodating and understand they are kids even though their ticket says adult.
;)
Let me know how you make out
And btw I know I've done this at Chefs.
