Trip Number 9 ~ It's the Most Wonderful Time of Year ~ Christmastime at the GF & Poly

Here, finally.:crazy2:

OMG so wasn't that day the prettiest day you have ever seen? :faint:
Absolutely the most gorgeous-est, pretti-est, blue-est beautiful-est, not enough "-est's" to describe how pretty that day was!! pixiedust:

I'm glad you went to the Contemporary and posted pics here. It's very interesting to me-- I've never really walked around it other than running in for supper at Cali Grill once. I saw pics on Easywdw of the refurbed rooms and I think they are really beautiful. If the Contemporary wasn't surrounded by the concrete jungle, I'd probably stay there with the quickness!

That's too bad your lunch wasn't anything special. Seems like CS places are all going the way of being boring.:confused3

Can't wait to hear how your DS liked his surprise! And I forgot to tell you- Belle is doing it in gym at school and is so so so interested in doing it now! I can't wait to show her the pics of your DS- I told her the other day he did it at WDW and she was all wide eyed!!:cool1:

huh----- when did I hit 3 months in my countdown?? Strange.
:lmao::lmao::rotfl2::rotfl2:

I think it might work if I prepare properly. If I had one suitcase for the first half of the stay and another for the second, then I could probably get away with only unpacking half or close to it.:scratchin

CL definitely would help, because it would give us a semi-private place where we could hang out if our room wasn't ready.

Yes, you must prepare for a split stay! The trouble is that you have to unpack all your bathroom stuff each time! :faint:

Having the extra space in the CL lounge is really nice! :goodvibes

Oh, I detest the envelope of doom. Boo! :sad2:

I love the photo that people take at CR with their kids sitting on that Mickey statue thingy. I can't wait to see how your son liked his surprise! Kids sure know how to point out if their parents aren't being "fair", don't they?! ;)

The envelope of doom stinks!! :headache:

Oh yes, DS was like -- what am I getting, he got Lego's!!:rotfl:

GM Shelly

Funny you should do a review of Contempo Cafe today since I added it on my list of possible CS places yesterday. I had not looked at the menu, was thinking maybe they had some different options too. I know we want to try The Wave but not sure whether breakfast or lunch. I have never walked the grounds is CR just inside the Tower. Curious about DS14 surprise :)

Hey Sheila!

The food is about the same there as the Poly, maybe a few differences. It was just a nice change of scenery I guess! :upsidedow We've never been to the Wave. Can't wait to hear if you do breakfast or lunch and how you like it! :)

That was an awesome weather day!! ::yes:: Loved every second of it! :goodvibes Made it extra hard to come home the next day though.

The Contemporary interests me somewhat, but IDK that I could give up the Poly to try it! :rotfl: It is a neat place, I'm just not sure that it would have that nice laid back, vacation-y feel that we love...

That is cool that Belle is doing that in gym class!! I bet she is good at it! :thumbsup2 Maybe you'll be signing her up for it on the September trip! :)

:lmao::lmao::rotfl2::rotfl2:

Um.... looks like maybe a few days ago!! :upsidedow  :rotfl:

Can't wait to hear about the surprise. After what Jodi said I think I know now. :)

Too bad your lunch didn't have many different options. :(

What a very nice day! Too bad it was your last one! :(
We've taken pics in the mickey sculpture behind the contemporary a couple times - including the girls' first trip. It's fun to see how much they have changed. We explored the Contemporary a lot when we stayed at BLT. I know Dave would like to spend time at the marina, preferably with a boat or jet ski!

Hmm, what could the surprise be? :confused3

Yeah the rest of the days weren't bad weather wise, but this was definitely the best one! :goodvibes

I think that was the first time we had really explored outside the Contemporary. It's pretty nice back there. Looks like there's lots to do at the marina!

No guesses on the surprise???

:yay:

Last days are sad no matter what the weather..if it's pretty, you feel like, "oh, I hate to leave!!" ,..and if it's crummy weather you think, NOOO!! It's my last day and I am sad and the weather is gloomy"...so, it is a bummer either way!
I looooove the Cont...I love that we can walk to the MK or mono to epcot... It's a fabulous place to stay and we like it better than the Poly...but the Poly does have better landscaping~hands down...

I know!! :faint:

I think the CR looks really neat, just not sure I would like all the concrete! I need lushness!! Is that a word??? :rotfl:

:lmao: Lushness. IDK if it's a word, but it makes total sense though!!!

We are the same way. We need natural surroundings. We like trees, flowers, beach etc. We stayed for 4 nights at BLT last May, and it was really nice and I liked the rooms enough, but it wasn't my favorite.

We love the Wilderness Lodge, and the Boardwalk areas. :cloud9:

And I have NO clue what the surprise could be. I was thinking parasailing, but if Belle is doing that in gym class. I don't even know... :rotfl2:

I can't imagine what the surprise is! I tried to think what in the world could your DS do at WDW that Belle was doing in gym class. :scratchin We are such good detectives, but this one has me stumped! My only guess is that it involves some type of dancing. :dance3:

It's been a few days and I thought for sure I'd be pages behind. I like the pace of your TR now that you're working so much! I can keep up easier! :rotfl:

We tried the Contempo Cafe at CR last trip and weren't too thrilled either. Seems like all the CS places are the same these days.

I was thinking parasailing, but if Belle is doing that in gym class. I don't even know... :rotfl2:

Parasailing was my first thought too! Never got to do that in gym class though! :confused3

I just looked it up on wikipedia and it IS a word!!! :lmao: Who knew?! :rotfl:

Okay, that's totally my new word! ::yes::

I'd really like to try BLT sometime. But yes, I would miss all the palm trees and hammocks!

WL is on my to-do list too! :)

Teri -- I'm so surprised that you can't figure this one out!! You are the best detective I know. Well, you and Jodi! ;)

Nope, no dancing! :rotfl:

Yeah, things are running kind of slow around here lately. I'm slow with my updates and I'm not sure too many people are still reading at this point! :rotfl:

I need to get it in gear and get this thing finished up!! :thumbsup2

Yes, it seems that most of the CS places are about the same anymore. Not a whole lot of difference between them. :confused3

Nope, no parasailing!!

You know the saying, "Use it or lose it!" I haven't had any recent cases to keep me sharp.

I appreciate you mentioning my name in the same breath as the Queen Bee of all sleuths. :worship:

OK, one more guess. Miniature golf?? That gym class clue is a real puzzler. :confused3

SINGIN' IN THE RAIN!!!!!
Just a SIIIIIIIIIIIIINGIIIIIIIN IN THA' RAIN....

Oh wait. Wrong dance.:stir:

I know its been awhile but things once seen--- cannot be unseen.:crazy2::crazy2::crazy2:

PS---- She's a better detective than me.:wave2:

Well the two of you are quite the pair when it comes to finding important stuff out!!

Nope, not miniature golf. Good guess though! :)

Wait, what?

ME????? Queen???

I'm a Queen all right but not that kind. More like Evil Queen.;)

I can't believe it but I forgot the name of our agency.:duck:

How the heck did I do that???????? Prolly 'cause Ain't been no cases that needed tending to lately. :coffee:
