Trip Number 9 ~ It's the Most Wonderful Time of Year ~ Christmastime at the GF & Poly

Loved the pics of the Christmas decorations at BC and YC. We've yet to make it over to walk the boardwalk. It's always on our to do list but we run out of time...maybe this next trip!

And that screaming lady on Soarin???? :faint:

We stopped by the little gift shop that is right off the lobby. The kids liked this vinylmation – it looked like the clown slide! :rotfl:

Sadly we didn't have enough time to stop by the big gift shop out on the BW. We love that shop!

Creepy no matter where he is!!!!! Every time I see him he reminds me of Pennywise from It. :clown::scared1::scared1::scared1:

Okay I have read somewhere before that chefs give the worst cuts of steak to people who order them well done. And I can honestly say that I've experienced it. Totally not fair at all.:furious:

So what's on the agenda today??? Anything fun? I'm sitting here trying to keep myself from going to buy almond butter to make copycat reese cups. Guess what I've discovered makes me hurt all over? Peanut Butter!!!!!! And my gluten free bread that I've been eating so much of has potatoes in it. So that's out too. :rolleyes2
I swear I'm gonna have to live in a bubble before it's all over with.:worried:

Oh my!!! That is quite the story Heather!:scared1:
So once you book a trip you're out the points if you can't make it? That is scary!
That's just awful that you had to sell them off. Does that mean that you won't get to have more points in your bank until next December and you have a year to use them? Is that how it is? I get so confused when it comes to DVC!
What??? No more warm PB for Jo??? oh the horror!!!!

OMG Kim! I can't believe you guys have never been to the Boardwalk! :faint:

It is basically "our spot" when we go to WDW. :lovestruc It started out because we are both such huge sports fans, and we would always go to ESPN to watch at least a game (or two :rolleyes1) each trip. Now, we just go all the time.

You really need to go, I bet your little ones would love the street performers at night :thumbsup2

Great pictures of the Poly, that food looked great :)

What I would give to be at the Poly right now!

I guess I can understand a fear of Soarin (I think the "feeling" of flying is what makes most people love it so much) but you'd think she would have gotten the gist of it in all the descriptions?

The flash thing drives me crazy too. My biggest issue with it is that how many of those pictures are they actually going to care about in 2 weeks from now? Photos of people in that dim of light look funky whether you use the flash or not, and everything else isn't exactly something most people go back and stare at in the future reminiscing. I can definitely understand wanting to take some photos or videos on rides, but Disney states no flash frequently (and I don't buy the "No habla ingles" line for a minute) and it's not a big deal to get what you want without.

That was just it. It was explained to her at least twice in my presence. And probably more times before that. So if she didn't think she could handle it she should have just left!!

I know, the people with the flash pics are just ridiculous. :headache:

One time I saw someone take a flash photo just as the boat left the loading area of Pirates of the caribbean. The flash lit up the control booth and the next thing you heard was announcement about no flash pictures. Everyone around me had a laugh about it because of how dumb the guest was that just did that.

 That is funny!!

You've got to get over there, it is awesome!! :cool1:

Thanks! :goodvibes Oh I know, I would love to be laying by the Poly pool right now!! :cloud9:

Just getting caught up after our beach trip...

That's too funny about the chick on Soarin'. I thought my family was the only one that has all the run-ins with the nut jobs while on vacation! Sometimes it's hard for me to believe that people are really that stupid. I think some do it to get attention. Pathetic really. :sad2:

I don't do Mission Space either. No way, no how. I'd die in that thing! :scared1: DH and DD did it once and even they said they'd never do it again.

Living with the Land BORING!!!! WHAT??? You mean you don't want to watch squash grow in sand? We actually like that ride though. It's not a favorite or anything, but we always ride it. Maybe I just enjoy getting off my feet for 10 minutes more than learning about the plants though. :rolleyes1

I love that little shop in the Poly. It has some unique things. I got a silver Mickey head car thingy (like the Jesus fish symbol thing that you see on the back of cars... as you can tell, I have no clue what they are called!) Anyway, it's really cute and I've had so many people comment on it. I told DH that I'm using it as a tax deduction this year as an advertising expense. :rotfl: They had other car stuff in there too that was really cute... stuff I've never seen anywhere else.

I've gotten that pork sandwich before it was pretty good.

I hope we make it back to the Poly someday!! DH said maybe we can have a weekend getaway sometime instead of staying for a week. Sounds good to me!

Well in 1 WEEK we will be on the road to sunny warm FL!!!!! :). I can't wait. I have all the stuff packed I bought for the condo. Now just to pack clothes this weekend.

We bought a car top carrier and a bike rack too. So exciting!!

We saw plenty of crazies this time!! :crazy2: :faint: But I always think of you when I walk by the LM in DHS or Kali River Rapids in AK. :rotfl2::rotfl:

DH actually likes Living with the Land. DS13 and I think it is the most boring thing ever!! DS11 thinks it's okay. It is a nice break I guess. I always just feel like I am wasting prescious Epcot time. :hyper:

I've seen that silver Mickey head thingy for cars!! We opted for the WDW sticker. It's in my back window. Yeah, maybe I can write it off for advertising!! :rotfl:

That will be fun for you guys to take some weekend getaways now, since you'll be so close!! :cool1:

I'm so jealous!! Have a great time next week! :goodvibes

Hello! I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend. :goodvibes It was finally warm here! DS turned 14 yesterday, so we spent most of the weekend partying!! :cool1:

----------------

Day 6 – Friday December 14

This would be our last park day! We usually get 7 or 8 day park tickets. But we came back from our last trip (Apr/May 2012) feeling like we spent too much time running around and that our next trip would be very low key and we would only get 4 day tix! Well, when I went to buy the tix for this trip from Undercover Tourist they had a special – buy 4 days, get 1 free. So the price of the 5 day tix were the same as the 4 day. So of course I had to get 5 days!! :upsidedow So that left us with one day for each park, and one we would get to do twice. Naturally it would be a choice between MK and Epcot. And seeing that we had done Epcot 3-4 times on the last trip (stayed at the BC) and that we were staying at the Poly this time, MK won!

So we were up early this morning. DH made his morning jaunt over to the GCH to get his coffee and cinnamon roll. I think DS14 went with him this time! DS11's rash was finally showing some signs of fading a bit!

DisneyDecember2012865_zpsf1e250ee.jpg

We wanted to make rope drop at MK, so we got on the monorail at the Poly around 8:15 or so.

DisneyDecember2012866_zps47b17032.jpg

DisneyDecember2012867_zps9dfe2da3.jpg

And we were at MK and through security & up front by 8:30!

DisneyDecember2012869_zps97ecafbb.jpg

And we patiently waited for the park to open. At about 8:50 they started the opening show!

We headed straight through the castle and to Fantasyland to ride Peter Pan's Flight and It's a Small World, since we had not done them earlier in the week.

We quickly grabbed some FP's for the LM before heading to Peter Pan. Love this ride!

Up Next: More MK!

Well I can't believe you're the mom of a 14 year old now. It's so... tough!:worried: In four years we will be getting ready to send them off to college.:scared1:

You got up and out of the Poly early! It's so worth it to get going to RD on those days. It was already looking like a ton of people had shown up early.

I still can't get used to MM blinking his eyes. It's weird to me.

DS11 looks like he is ready to throw DS14 off of his horse.:rotfl: Poor guy!

Can't wait for more MK!!!:yay:

Shelly You did all my old favorite rides :goodvibes I always wanted to ride the carousel but never did, now I wouldn't be able to hoist myself up on a horse :rotfl2:

loooove the MK in the mornings!! I am not an early riser by nature,...but that is a reaaaaaally good draw!! :goodvibes
