Trip Number 9 ~ It's the Most Wonderful Time of Year ~ Christmastime at the GF & Poly

Love that pic in front of the castle. I love that spot little people behind you.

Can't wait to ride LM. We leave Sat. Morning at 3!!!

Mmm...I can smell the waffles and funnel cakes.
One thing that I did like about Korea was that they loved waffles, so you could get them a lot of places, and it's kind of hard to mess up a waffle...unless it's burnt.

That is a very nice photo in front of the castle.
I think I actually like most of the ones taken from that vantage point better than the ones taken straight on, because from there they get closer to you to get the castle in the background.
It's kind of awful in the afternoon, because the sun is right in your face though.

I'm not sure what to think about the Pirates game. It's kind of odd to me that they're putting ANOTHER interactive game in at MK. You would think that it would make sense to do it at one of the parks that people deem "half day" parks instead?
We did the Kim Possible one on our last trip, and it was ok, but it was frustrating that it didn't open until fairly late, and then they wanted us to cross the World Showcase to keep participating. That was during F&W too, so doing it in the evening would have been a nightmare. I think we did 3 pavilions, then stopped.

I'm starting to think that 5 days might be the perfect number in the parks, assuming you have a full week to accommodate it. Unless of course you can stay for MUCH longer.

Have a great time! :goodvibes

Wise words to live by. Does he have any favorite bands?

Well he loves the bands from the 80's. Aerosmith, Journey, Poison, etc. :cool1:

He also likes stuff from today - Usher, Adele, Maroon 5, Psy, etc.

It is hard to find good waffles here!!

Yeah, we hardly ever get good pics on Main Street. Too many people, sun in our face, etc. That's a much better spot off to the side! :thumbsup2

I've heard lots of people say that about the Kim Possible game. Hopefully the POTC game will be more interesting and fun! :wizard:

I agree. If you have at least 7-8 days, then 5-6 days in the park is plenty! :goodvibes

When I left of we were all getting a little hungry, but it wasn't quite lunch time yet. So we were going to try a new place that I had been wanting to try.

And from all the discussion you already know we were off to Sleepy Hollow!

Pretty neat little place! We had never been there before. There is only outdoor seating, but a lot of it is covered. We were able to get a table in the back corner, so it wasn't too bad for a chilly morning.

I had a waffle with strawberries and it was delicious! :lovestruc This might be a new 'must do' for me from now on. ::yes::

Total Bill: $23.71

After we got our bellies full we headed over to the HM. So far we hadn't had any waits this morning. But the HM wait time said 20 minutes I think. We didn't wait quite that long.

Continued in next post....

From there we decided to split up. We all like BTMRR, but DS14 and I more than DS11 & DH! So they decided to give the Liberty Belle Boat a try (none of us have ever done it before), while we headed over to BTMRR. We hoped that we would all finish up around the same time.

DisneyDecember2012962_zps21ae467f.jpg

So DS14 and I headed over to BTMRR and got there & they were turning people away saying it is down right now. :faint: We looked back to see if the river boat has left yet, hoping it hadn't and we could run back and ride with DH & DS11. But we saw it coming down the river already!

So DS14 called DH and tells him that we can see them!!

DisneyDecember2012967_zps9d5a6353.jpg

So we were standing at the river's edge waving and watching them sail away! :upsidedow

Up Next: Would DS14 and I ever get to ride BTMRR?

/
Shelly that waffle does look good! Love the picture exchange between You and DS14 with DH and Other DS on the boat. Hard to believe you have never rode it before.

The waffle looks good, but my heart belongs to the funnel cake. :lovestruc

They remind me so much of beignets, which is such a treat when we go to New Orleans. So sinfully yummy!

I can just picture you and DS14 running to catch the LB before it sailed! Too bad you missed it, but you got some really cute pics of each other. I love the pic your DH got of you taking his pic! So did they enjoy it?

I was going to ask if you ever got to ride BTMR, but I just noticed that you will be telling us the answer to that in your next update. ;)

Those treats look so yummy! I have to add Sleepy Hollow to my list of new places to try.

Great waffle pics, we've never tried Sleepy Hollow either but I think we need to :)

Did your DH and DS like the Liberty Belle boat? it's something we've never done and wondered if it is worth doing.

I know, hard to believe we have never been on that boat. :confused3 Never wanted to take the time I guess!

IDK why, but I always feel like the funnel cake is more greasy! :confused3 I can only eat very little of it. The waffle on the other hand - ate that whole dang thing!!

It was neat to be able to see them on the boat!

They seemed to enjoy it. I'm not sure if DS14 and I would though. We tend to get bored easily! :rotfl:

The answer to that question is coming up next! :thumbsup2

:cool1: interesting taste for the 80's stuff anything harder like Van Halen or AC/DC?

No, not really.

Absolutely! :thumbsup2

They have waffle sandwiches too. They looked good, but I think I'll stick with the waffle and strawberries! :goodvibes

They did like the riverboat ride. I don't think it's something they will have to do each time, but they enjoyed it!

Yum! We have never been to Sleepy Hollow either. In fact, I just noticed in your pictures that we pretty much just skip that entire stretch between CBJ and HM.

Looks like we need to spend a little more time, and not just sprint past all that stuff to get to Pecos Bills or Splash!

What kind of waffle sandwiches did they have? Sounds interesting...

I can't believe so many people haven't been to Sleepy Hollow! :upsidedow Yes, definitely stop by there sometime!

They have Sweet & Spicy Chicken waffle sandwiches and Ham & Swiss waffle sandwiches. Plus Nutella & fresh fruit. http://allears.net/menu/menu_sh.htm

When we were there in October we had the nutella and fruit - It was YUMMY!!!

Cool pics from the boat and of the boat!

Add me to the list of those who have never tried Sleepy Hollow. Those waffles and funnel cakes sure do look good though. Might just have to add it to the "new" things to try.

Yeah, it's just one of those places that you just don't think about. Everyone has their favorite TS restaurants at MK - CRT, CP, BOG, etc. And everyone has their favorite CS restaurants - Casey's, CHH, Cosmic Ray's. etc.

I think Sleepy Hollow is a good place to stop for a late breakfast/early lunch - like we did. Or maybe for a snack later in the evening.

:goodvibes
