I'm sure it is so frustrating. I know there are several people around here with a teaching degree that can't even find any open positions to interview for. It must be a little better where you are, at least you are getting some interviews. Hopefully you will get some good news soon!

It's not great here either. I just for the first time all summer, had my first interview 2 wks. ago. They are all happening all of a sudden!! I've never seen so many school districts hiring this late!!! School starts for my kids Sept.6 and most districts around here start sometime that wk. but a lot of schools have teachers come in next week for professional development.
I'm trying to stay positive. It's REALLY hard though.
I don't remember if I said this before but, I just applied to 3 more positions that just got posted in the last few days. Those positions start Sept. 4 so they need to interview QUICK!!!! I'm hoping for a call today or tomorrow.
I am really grateful for the few interviews I've had already.

some of the schools around us are doing ok..not really hiring, but not seeming to be letting people go either...now, in the town we are in, they let 40 teachers & aides go at the end of the year summer before last...2 of my friends were let go~ one girl had just gotten her degree and this was her first year,,she was the first one they 'released' the other girl was at the end of the mandatory 3 year Probation period. I know it's a struggle right now....the girl across the street couldn't even get an interview anywhere last year~probably because the 40something teachers who were let go had already applied everywhere!! Hope you get a good answer soon!

How do the boys like the Disney Universe for Wii game?? I got it for DD as something to bide the time away waiting for our last trip and she really likes it.

I hate crowded pools too. DD doesn't seem to mind them so much but then again she's a total fish and can't resist being in water when near it but I prefer it to be more quiet and have space to swim and float around.

Pizza by the pool looks like such a GREAT idea!!! We've never actually gotten food and went and eaten it by the pool!!! Why on earth NOT?? is what I'm wondering now?!?! Looks like it was such a nice relaxing time

Oh and we always have to stop for dd to try the sword too. LOL Have you actually EVER seen anyone pull it out?? I've heard it does happen on the rare ocassion but I've never seen it happen and havn't actually heard from someone that has done it.

My son pulled the sword out in Nov 2010, we tried again in Oct 2011 but no such luck although we did see a lot of kids doing it. We even saw the CM working the controls to make it work sitting outside Mickey's Philarmagic. I noticed that when there was a Photopass photographer in the area the sword was pulled out almost every time.

Our school waits until the last minute if they are going to hire too. Not sure what the purpose of that is. It's like they suddenly find money in the budget for the position at the last second!

That's pretty much what's gone on here since our governor made all the budget cuts for education a few years ago -- we haven't really had to let anyone go, but anyone who retires doesn't seem to get replaced. Which leaves zero jobs for kids graduating college with a teaching certificate.

Yep - they really like the game!

Even my kids were irritated by the SAB pool, so that's pretty bad!! It just wasn't what we were used to at all the other WDW resort pools. We've seen crowded pools before - but nothing like this. And so LOUD!!

Sometimes on vacation after eating out every night in sit down restaurants it is nice to just grab a simple meal and relax somewhere at the resort.

I've never seen the sword come up, except for in pics here on the DIS.

Up next was Philharmagic. I don't care how many times I see this show, it never gets old. LOVE it!!

Then we came across these ladies with hardly anyone in line! The boys wouldn't get a picture though unless I came with them. So DH was taking forever to take the picture (not sure what the hold up was) and one of them says in her nasty voice – he's not very good at this is he??? And then DS10 was giving one of them his raised eyebrow to be funny and she said – this one is raising his eyebrows at me, I think we are going to have to get married!!

When we were done there it was about 9:40 and we needed to get back up to the front of Main Street to Guest Services to get checked in for our 10:00am flight for the next morning and get our boarding passes printed. We hated to waste the time at MK doing this, but we didn't want to end up with all 4 seats apart from each other on the plane either!! So we headed back towards the front of the park. And everyone else was heading in. It was getting super crowded, super fast.

We made our way to Guest Services and waited in a short line and got everything all taken care of. Then we made our way back up Main Street again and went to Adventureland.

We walked by the Magic Carpets and there was a big line!! We remembered when we practically had it to ourselves on Wednesday night.

The Jungle Cruise only had a 10 minute wait, so we decided to do it next!

Very fun and corny as always!

And you would have thought we had enough of the POTC after our 4 rides on it on Wednesday night, but nope! We had to go again. With about a 10 minute wait.

It was about 11:00 and we were getting hungry. DH & I wanted Pecos Bill's, which is right around the corner from POTC. But the kids wanted mini corndogs from Casey's. So we trekked clear back to Main Street for corndogs and then clear back to Pecos Bill's!

Casey's was just opening when we got there!

We quickly got the corndogs and got out of there!

As we were heading to Pecos DS10 had to stop for a quick pin trade!!

And we finally made it!

We found a table in the corner and got the kids all situated and then we went up to get our lunch!
