Anybody use travelocity? :confused3 Are the fees outrageous or is it a good deal for hotels? I want to stay in Columbus OH. I am finding two 1/2 star hotels around $50-$60. Are there any discount codes out there? I have used priceline before but we did "name your own price" and the hotel gave us one room with one KING bed for 5 people (2 adults 3 kids at the time) even though we said we had 5 people when we did it. So now I am lery of priceline since you don't know what you are getting until after you make a committment with the name your own price. I could do a fixed price at priceline but thought maybe you folks could give me advice about travelocity.
Thanks a bunch :)

I tend to use Travelocity over some of the others. But I always check the hotels directly as well. So I'll check out Travelocity and Orbitz and see what their best prices are. If I see a Doubletree or Hampton or something that I want to stay in, I'll then go to Hilton.com directly to see if their prices are better. Sometimes the hotel's direct price is better than the "discount" place. But the discount travel sites are a good place to start your research because you are searching many different properties at once. (same thing with air, cruise, etc).

I don't know of any discounts that they offer by coupon code. They usually just have their specials built into their website for the most part. But your rewards program might give you a few bucks back depending on what you are booking.

I don't know about hotels, the airfare they add $10 per ticket. Not too bad, considering they had the absolute best airfare I could find!

Thanks for the info eveyone. I am going to check the rates and the hotel directly and then decide. I can always count on the DIS for help. :thanks:

What part of Columbus are you coming to visit? I live here and have used priceline when I need to stay around town for various reasons. Most of the times I have been very happy with them. I do know that some people are very unhappy on biddingfortravel.com with the 3*, but I have never had that problem. Let me know if you have any questions. Enjoy your visit. :sunny:

I really like travelocity. I find that their prices are quite reasonable and you can find some really great deals. Althought I cant say the same about expedia. Those prices are just outrageous. I wouldnt recommend Expedia.

I have used them many times also. I even used them when I booked my first Disney Cruise.

They have been quite helpful, & they are alway avaiable whenever I called on the phone for help. :thumbsup2

I would use them again.

Good luck

Through travelocity I can get this deal and the hotel has pretty good reviews:

Clarion Hotel and Suites Conference Center is located approximately 10 miles north of downtown Columbus and Port Columbus Airport and I can get two queens for around $50 and they have a pool.

We are planning a short trip because we are "vacationing" with DH mom and dad in Bucyrus Ohio. We all plan to go to COSI in columbus and then go to the hotel and swim. In the morning we are planning a possible day trip to cincinatti and then back to Bucyrus, Ohio.

Thanks for your help everybody! :yay:
