Hi Everybody
Have not been on for a while. I tore a ligament in my foot and had to have it casted. It is slowing down my pre cruise shopping. And I can't try on any old clothes to see if they still fit. Doctor said he will take it off the Friday before we leave if I think it is better. Well I could have told him at that moment it would be better. The last thing I want to do is stand on one foot in that little bath tub to wash my hair. I had to help out at school almost everyday this week so I way behind on what's happening with you guys.
Lynn
Lynn so sorry about your foot. I hope it is better for the cruise.
Thank you! It made perfect sense! I was going to make a pillowcase but ran out of time. I happened to find bevel cut mats at
Walmart that are specifically for autographs. And the price was right, 1.99!! I bought stickers of Mickey, Minnie, Goofy and Pluto and put them on as well. All we can do is ask, right?
Judy
That is perfect and they will sign the photomats. We have had them done several times and we had blanks ones with no stickers. I would put your stateroom number on the back of it...they put a piece of paper with it, but paper gets lost. When I did my pillowcases and my quilt top I safety pinned my last name and stateroom number that I wrote on fabric to it.
Lynn, you are correct on them not signing anything with another logo type on it and the Captain Jack with the characters. There is a boring legal reason for it that my husband could quote you. Sorry Chuck and Lisa I am not calling the law boring. Good thought on letting everyone know.
Two questions:
1. What's everyones thoughts on water shoes? We are doing dolphins in Coz and on our own beach at GC.
2. Do I need a power strip or is an extension cord enough? We won't have ipods or phones, just hair dryer, curling iron etc.
Laura
We always bring water shoes. There are parts that are rocky and I do not like cutting my feet. But that is just me.
As for the powerstrrip we bring a block that has mulitple outlets. There are not enough for us to charge our things and that is a battery charger and video camera and then plug our laptop in at the same time.
Also, let me share my geeky chemsitry with you, but spare you the explanation. For those that do not know bring a small thing of baby powder with you to the beach. Sprinkle it on and send brushes right off. The powder will also absorb any minimal amount of liquid/sweat on you. Sprinkle in your shoes, on towels, bags, even flip your head over and apply lightly to your scalp and the sand will fall off.
And my friend that is a beautician told me to spray my hair and daughters with detangler, spray in conditioner, or not to completely rinse the conditioner out of our hair before going into salt water. It apparently stops the salt water from penetrating the hair shaft and causing it to swell. Which will give you the dried out frizz look. I have treid it several times and no frizzy hair.
