Trading DVC to other HH or Myrtle Beach resorts

Greetings and happy new year. Spent 7 days end of Dec at Disneylands Grand Californian using DVC points. Great location and similar to VWL.

I tried to book a week at HH June 5 but am wait listed. So I am looking at using a location from the passport collection either in HH or Myrtle beach. Anyone have good or bad experiences doing this and which locations were they at? Should I take my chances on the waitlist (really want to stay at DVC HH) or book something else?

I got a getaway to Marriott's Grande Ocean Resort - this is a beautiful resort - a little better than DVC HH - because it is on the ocean.... (do the timeshare tour..... they pay you...)

I have been told that most of the Myrtle beach timeshare are converted hotels - so I would wait until the new Marriott is on the DVC list.

Summer at HH is a tough time, especialy this little time out. I'd keep on the wait list as long as you can. You might look for a direct exchange with a Marriott or other owner for what you want. Grande Ocean is the top resort on the Island followed by Barony then DVC.
