Trader Sams question..

Hi guys
On our up coming trip i'd like to visit Trader Sams but as a non-drinker. I'd like to purchase one or 2 of their souvineer cups/mugs in particualr the Nemo submarine one. Does anyone know if this is allowed without the alchol purchase? I don't mind paying to fill it with Soda if it must be purchased as a drink but do not want to waste a load of $ on a drink i might end up pouring out

Any words of wisdom as usual much appreciated!

I don't drink so going there with DH was about the experience, which I loved. I didn't want to purchase the souvenir glass but they did have some non-alcoholic drinks in the kitchy glasses. They allowed me to buy a drink w/o the glass so I'm sure they'd let you buy the glass w/o the drink but they'll probably charge you full price and they aren't cheap. Always ask as the last time they went, they even expanded their bar menu from when they first opened so you never know.

I don’t recall seeing prices on the menu for glass only. I saw prices for drink only, and prices for drink plus souvenir glass, but none for just glass. I imagine you’d have to pay the drink plus glass price. But, I didn’t try, so maybe someone will correct me.

I also think that's the case, though I've never tried to buy a glass without the drink.

I do know that you can buy glasses separately at the Hangar Bar in DS, but those glasses are displayed in the entry with prices.

I don't know the answer either, but they have the glasses stocked behind the hostess stand so part of me wonders if you can even just stop in at the hostess stand and buy a glass without actually sitting in the restaurant. I've never tried either, but I can't imagine Disney turning down a sale of something. LOL!

I asked the bartender at Trader Sams about this last year. You can get the glass without the drink but you have to pay the full price of the drink and glass AND they won’t put anything else in the glass besides the alcoholic drink that is supposed to be in it. So no soda or water or drink substitutions.

I can’t either, but I can imagine there are people who would pay the full price anyway because they want the glass that badly, and Disney could have figured that they’ll make more money on those people (paying full price and not serving them any alcohol) than they’ll lose to the few who will buy nothing instead. But, I could be wrong.

Unless thing have changed you can't just buy the Nautilus (which is what I assume you meant by the Nemo submarine), and I don't believe they will make a non-alochoic version of it. They mugs are all sold as part of the drink package. The Nautilus, with drink will set you back some $55 plus, consider buying the drink for some friends if you want it, else hit up eBay.
