Tracy Arm day Barbecue

Thank you guys. Food pics are the BEST! Can't wait to stuff myself with all of that in 8 days! And that really did look like Monstro. Maybe we will do that too, sounds fun!

this is extremely helpful, love these photos! Are the side salads out with the bbq or do you have to go back inside for the side salads?

The side salads are out with the bbq. We walked through the regular line inside without getting anything and hopped in line outside where they had plates/silver/napkins at the beginning, breads, salads and meats. Someone had a good photo upthread of the set-up.
Seats were a little hard to come by as there were families camped out for the day at tables along the rail.

Just a warning.... some had troubles finding the BBQ. You get your food at the Beach Blanket buffet, then you exit the rear of the ship to find the salmon BBQ line.

can you clarify what you mean by "you get your food at the Beach Blanket Buffet..."? Do you mean like all your sides, etc... and then get the BBQ outside?

BBB serves their regular lunch fare. The BBQ is outside towards the back of the ship where outside seating is.

yep.... most don't normally exit the ship by the back doors after getting the buffet food inside..... as a result.... they miss the salmon.

So many people are outside on this day, inside seating seemed plentiful. We had cool, but nice weather on the Tracy Arm day. If it rains, I am sure it is a different story.
My visit was on a rainy day..... instead of having the BBQ's against the railings in the pictures... the cooks were huddled under the awning trying to stay dry.

We just skirted around the inside line altogether and got plates, salads, bread, meat in the outside line.

So we are signed up for the 12:00 pm excursion to go on the smaller boat up through Tracy Arm but my hubby does NOT want to miss this BBQ. Do you think we will be able to hurry and eat and then get to the excursion on time? Apparently food rules!!! ;)

It did not start until 11:45 on our May 23rd sailing.

Did the BBQ end because of new forest regulations? I'm so confused. The grills took up prime real estate on the deck, I'll admit. But just soup bowls now on Tracy Arm day?

All the pictures the one poster had looked just like ours in May 2016....except we had pulled pork instead of steak.

It ended because of the redo of Cabanas on the Wonder. There is simply no room on deck anymore for it.

So wait ... there is no more Tracy Arm BBQ ?!?

Don't worry, you really aren't missing much. It's basically the buffet but...outside where your food can get cold faster. :P Just grab your stuff from Cabanas and take it outside and eat. Same thing!

Sounds like I should sign up for the excursion instead ... was kinda looking forward to the BBQ everyone was talking about. Guess it disappeared with drydock. :(

Ours was actually cancelled due to weather and then they ended up having it on the last day instead (the sea day) and we were so excited. Then we went and it was basically the same food from the buffet just served outside (well, there was still some inside as well). We were so confused what the fuss was all about.

However, even those who did the excursion could do the lunch. You just lunch before or after. We didn't do the excursion (and we were fine with that decision) but we know some who did and they had no problem catching lunch.
