I really like that folder. It makes me rethink how I've been travelling with all my documents stuffed in this little travel folder. I'm glad everything is coming together!

Thanks. Like I said, I traveled with the full-out binder for the Oct trip which wasn't too bad but I feel like I print out allllll this stuff and never end up using it. I haven't been on a week long trip to WDW in years and worked there so as far as park plans, it's pretty much set in stone what we do and when. I'm glad things are getting finalized to a certain degree!

Thanks! I did book an ADR for the new Mexican restaurant. My family have eaten at most WS restaurants except for Mexico (inside the building) and I refuse to let them go there..it's for their own good of course! I thought about maybe the new one? I ate at the CS in Oct and was not a fan of the beef in the tacos so we'll see. My dad's fav is Teppan Edo but getting an ADR for that now is not likely but we'll see.

Did you see that the weather forecast is looking better? 69 on Friday and then 79 & 80 for the weekend!! ...and hopefully with no humidity! So it's improving ~~ hope it stays that way! It's gotten cold here in Virginia so the warmth will be great. Only a week to go!!

Girl, I am not judging you for reusing the mug one bit! I seriously doubt Disney will lose money from the soda that you drink in 5 days!

I like your binder! Even though we are doing the DxDP and have a ton of ADRs I don't think I'll put menus in my binder. I have them all on my phone, so that's a lot easier for me to carry around!

I did not! I was trying to avoid looking at it till the weekend with the hopes that as the days got closer, the temps would get warmer! That is a nice surprise!

Thanks! I got the black backpack the first weekend that I was a CP. I think it was one of the first things I bought with my CM discount and I haven't seen the bags since. They also had a pink one that said something about a crown but I assumed that would just get dirty and I'm sure I would have been right!

On a happy note, I guess the CM that added my bro to our POP room for the first night felt it urgent to send us another MYW package including 4 more luggage tags and the booklet with coupons. Does that mean we can use both books? lol. Now all in all between our POP room and WL room, we got in total 10 luggage tags haha. It was nice to see that Fed EX type package with 2 day shipping on it paid by WDW.

HAPPY SATURDAY DIS FRIENDS!!!

Did anyone else wake up to SNOW?!! We have an inch or so on the ground already and they are saying up to 3 inches by 6pm. Cincinnati people will freak out as they don't get much snow..or aren't supposed to. I guess last year was they most they got in a long time + my first winter back North since moving to FL = NOT COOL!!! We'll see how this year goes. Unlike Pittsburgh, the snow here doesn't usually last and melts within a day or two which is good!


I'll be back later with a PTR update but I figured with just 5 DAYS TO GO BEFORE LEAVING FOR WDW, I better get in gear and get this one done!



MONDAY OCT 25, 2010

After a long night at MNSSHP, we had high hopes of being up early for opening of AK. We figured the earlier we got there, the sooner we would get to Epcot for Food and Wine!

We did get up and make it to AK just at 8am!

I have named this "BACK TO WHERE IT ALL BEGAN" because it is how/why the 3 of us met. M worked at AKL but did most of her training at Animal Programs with us at AK and we did some at Epcot too. J and I worked together on the same team for Education Presenters. We ran the Kids Discovery Clubs at AK (we are the ones that wear khaki and red shirts!) But even though we worked there, for J and I, it's our least favorite park..shhh don't tell!

We got a FP pic taken before we headed off to EE!!!

We rode twice, with no wait of course and then made our way along the river to KS.

This is the spot where J and I had our team picture taken 2 years ago..I still can't believe it was 2 years ago already!

We got to AK and found a huge line. They must have had an issue with the ride because it was lined up for about a 30 min wait. When we got to the stroller ditch area, I saw my Bro's roommate. I gave him a hug and said a few words and we went on our way. It was pretty darn bittersweet.

Finally we got on the ride!

I always say I'm not going to take pics on the ride..but I always do. I did limit myself this time!

One of J and I's friends that we worked with at AK is now an elephant keeper so of course we had to take a shot of her work!

We got stopped at the lions for 10 mins or so which was cool because they were both active!

I did take more but didn't upload them. We had a good ride but the giraffe's weren't out. They are my fav so that kinda stunk!

After the ride we headed over to Dinoland to ride Dinosaur but first we had to stop and take a pic of Sue. She was one of the speeches we had to give as presenters.

When we got there it had a 20 min wait or so. Not sure what was going on that morning but it was busy!

When we got off, we headed over to FOTL. This is one that I would have skipped to ride Soarin. My hopes were to get out of there after the 3 rides and get to Epcot just after 9am to get FP for Soarin. I was out voted which was okay because I really do love FOTL but I love Soarin too. I wonder if we would get FP for Soarin????

After the show, we headed to the potty near the front of the park. I did stop into GR to ask them about my AP. The night before at the party, I asked outside GR and they told me I had to wait until my DDP was all Done before getting the AP and I had to to it at a park. That didn't sit well with me so I asked AK GR and they told me to do it tonight and they can remove the tickets so it doesn't touch the DDP. Good to know.

Then we had our first really debate/argument of the trip. M thought it would be faster to take a bus to TTC and then monorail to Epcot. I said just wait for Epcot bus it would be faster..who would win??

Me of course and 5 mins later an Epcot bus pulled up.

We were off for fun rides, food and wine, and a lunch at France!!!

AK is my least favorite park. Not that I don't like the attractions that they have there, but I never spend a full day there.

We never see the lions move around when we go on the safari, so that's great that you guys got to stop and watch them! They're always passed out when we are there...maybe next time I'll go to EMH's in the morning and they will be awake!

I've seen the lions move around a few times. I think they are more active first thing in the morning and then at night, other than that, they are dull lol. We did see the cheetahs that day which was the first time I've ever seen them so that was cool!

3 DAYS TILL THE DEC TRIP!!!

Can you believe I only have 3 days until the Dec Trip?!! I feel like the time is going to go super fast with working every day, including a 1/2 day on Thurs before we leave. At work, we're waiting for our sate licensing lady to show up unannounced. They always do a scheduled visit in the summer and one not scheduled in Dec. We've been waiting and waiting and she hasn't come. They thought today, but she didn't come. I find out my Praxis score tomorrow so I'm sure she'll show up and make the day worse (assuming I've failed again!)

I hit the TARGET TRAVEL SECTION over the weekend. I didn't need much but I got enough that it filled my toiletry bag!

I also went Xmas shopping over the weekend since I was sick the weekend before. I got some good deals too! I'm pretty much done with my mom, almost done with my dad, and clueless on my brother. He's been wanting that Swiss Luggage = expensive so I got him a toiletry bag of that and I might get him the carry-on bag and a PS2 game that he wants. Other than that he's getting a few Ohio State things and mostly movies. For some of my friends, I got pic frames at Kohls (on sale!) and I'm going to send those with pics, socks, and maybe something from WDW.

At Old Navy, I was hoping to find a shirt like the one I got last year:

And finally, I went to JCP and got 3 OSU shirts on sale for $19 total!

As far as the trip details...

WE FINALLY HAVE TRAVEL PLANS SET!!!

Bro is driving. He was going to leave tomorrow and drive to Erie and see a friend and leave from there..stupid IMO because he's going like 6 hours north to PA and then south when we live in Cincinnati where we're already 5 hours south. Since the cold snap/snow, I doubt he'll do that so he'll leave on Wed, drive to my aunts in Atlanta, stay there, and get into Orlando Thurs night.

Dad, Mom, and I are flying of course. Mom and I Thurs night and dad Fri morning.

On Friday, we'll check out of POP, Bro will drive mom and I to WL to check in, he'll go pick dad up at the airport, and then stop at Patterson apts to pick up one of his former roomies and let us into DHS park!

Bro said 2 of his roomies aren't using their main gates at all so my family will be able to get into the parks for free with hoppers and will save our tickets from the Free Dining!

I was also able to FINALLY score an ADR at Teppan Edo today after work. It's a lunch ADR on the 13th! It's my dad's favorite so he is super happy about that and is in fact already packed to go! Not sure what he packed, mom and I are wondering about that

I've enjoyed reading your trip reports and experiences teaching. (I taught Head Start my first summer after graduation - a l-o-n-g time ago!) I leave Wed. for WDW and hopefully my daughter will join me from Hawaii for a few days for our annual Dec. trip. I'm bringing her cold weather clothes though. The shirts from Old Navy are cute - did not think of that. Went to Kohl's instead for long-sleeved stuff. Hopefully, you'll be celebrating!

Sorry to hear no snow We got an inch or so last night. It pretty much all melted today. That is one good thing about Cincinnati, it will snow and melt pretty quickly!

Hey everyone!

Just wanted to update you on my score. I got online at 7:15am and checked my score. I failed by a point. Normally I would break down and cry at that point at my failure but I was pretty optimistic at the fact that I have not scored that high since the first time I took it back in 2007 so I'm close. Hopefully by March I'll nail it and can apply for teaching jobs in FL!!


I'm off to try and attempt a packing list. Based on Weather.com, I'm not happy...

53 DEGREES ON MONDAY!!!! I refuse to take my super heavy Columbia coat but I'll have to take my lighter one, plus gloves, and a hat I guess. That will not make for a magical trip but we'll try!
